I want to see Green benched as much as anyone, but the offensive line just isn't plug and play like we wish it was. Add to it that Patterson is still in the protocol and I'm going to take anything Demeco says about the offensive line with a large grain of salt. It sucks, but it is what it is at this point in the season.
Here's my guess. They'll give green one offensive drive as his last opportunity. If he fails, to the bench he goes. Or they'll use him the entire game. What the hell do I know?
It's a Thursday game. Teams would normally release injury reports for the practices leading up to the game. But because it's a short week and teams don't practice on Monday after Sunday games, they estimated an injury report for a hypothetical Monday practice. The Texans did it too.
On the upside, the Texans will have a couple of extra days for Patterson to get healthy and give him and/or Kendrick first team reps before the Lions game. I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard anything about putting Tytus Howard back at LG and having Blake Fisher start at RT. Not saying that would be the right move but I thought it would at least be talked about as a potential option.
My thoughts. Glad Nico is not coming back until next week. I want us to win, but more importantly don't have anybody sustain an injury. People get hurt when you are playing football on Hoffa's burial site.
