Can somebody guestimate how many fans showed up? You guys must've been rowdy because Rockets.com states, 'The large throng of Rockets fans in attendance was loud and boisterous throughout the 15-minute conference, with McGrady often shaking his head in amazement at the enthusiasm of the fans. "In my seven years, I have never seen anything like this," McGrady said in reference to his enthusiastic welcome. "I appreciate the love ... Juwan had previous commitments and was not present. SportsRadio 610 said about 1000 fans showed up. We filled up the back end of the lower bowl, about four sections! It was awesome! edit: see Tim's response below
man, if this is any indication of what the fans will be like during the season.....the Showroom is gonna be ROCKIN!! You guys that went did one HELLUVA JOB, I cant say how proud I am that you diehards made so much ruckus.
Our operations staff had the estimate at well over 2000 people at the event -- they said 2500 would actually be a better estimate. They were working off the section maps that show capacity in the areas fans were sitting. At any event, way, way more people than we anticipated. That was great. Tim

Hey rockHEAD, when Lue and Gaines started talking were the fans booing? On TV it looked like they were booing but since you got a first hand look what did you hear?
Tim, I am sure there were many more like me that were trying to get away from work to come down for the intro, and couldn't get away at the last minute. This is a huge deal for the Rockets. Just imagine the marketing aspect alone of a Yao/McGrady combo. And we still have an MLE and TE to play with for more FA's.
