The Texans' ESPN homepage showing 5 consecutive red L's is amazing. It brings memories of Kubiak's 3 consecutive seasons with 4-game losing streaks... including 2 separate 4-gamers in 2010. He sure knows how to throw gasoline on a fire.
Kubiak holds another press conference where he says: "Keenum played EXTREMELY WELL AND I HAVE PLENTY OF PROOF TO SEE HE WILL ONLY IMPROVE AND NOT THROW Pick 6's. But... Schaub is our starter." I'm kidding. He won't say that. TEXANS 7 Bye 8 BAN byes! ¡¡¡VAMOS, TEXANS!!!!!
LOL he basically said similar yesterday. Something along the lines of we will evaluate all players and Schaub is our starting QB. Kubiak needs to be smacked around.
Still bothers me that it's called a 'bye' week. Regular season isn't a tournament, so it's not a bye. Anyway, Bullock misses a 25 yarder in regulation forcing OT. Special teams allows no one to take the OT kickoff for a TD. Texans lose 6-0.
Free agent QB John Skelton worked out for the Bucs Tuesday. Skelton is also expected to visit with the Texans this week. He wouldn't be more than a No. 3 quarterback if signed. Skelton failed to make the Bengals this preseason and was waived by the 49ers earlier this month. Newton let the bye week get to the QB. Reed whiffed on the bye for a 1st down. Kubes said the bye is a darn good week.
Ben Tate has 4 broken ribs so couldn't come at a better time. But I must say this has so far been one of the most disappointing seasons I can ever remember for any Houston team. There was just so much high hope & it just hasn't worked out
One thing is for sure......Kubiak sucks at circling the wagons. There are some coaches that know exactly what buttons to push after a loss to get their team to respond, and then there are coaches who allow a small spark to turn into a full-on dumpster fire. Kubiak definitely falls in that latter group. The Texans are now 4-9 over their last 13 games, and his entire career here has been marred with multiple-game losing streaks. It's a major problem.
Hope none of the players gather in hotel bathrooms for cigar smoking before the bye. If so, that's pretty damning to Kubiak.
