What does Hop's contract look like. . . . . . . if this keeps up he will be looking at the front door Rocket River
He's under contract for one more season at just under 8 million and then he's a free agent. If he doesn't return to form, he'll cost himself a LOT of money.
Texans are a pretty easy team for forecast. They typically beat the teams they're supposed to beat and lose the spread to anything resembling a quality opponent. The win vs Chiefs and our loss to the Chargers were the only anomalies so far.
Watching this game, the DBs and OL have to carry most of the blame. I love Charles James as guy and a special teamer; just wish he was a better corner back. Also, it seems like the Texans WRs just never get separation. Even when Brock is missing his throws it seems the defenders are always close.
It's the offense, man. I thought we were looking ok again during the Raiders game but now its gone back into a tailspin. Chargers and Packers are two of the worst defenses in the NFL this year and all we can manage against these teams is a measly 13 points? So, we know why we're losing because we don't know how to score the football. For all of O'Briens "offensive guru" status hasn't seemed we earned, it feels like our offense has gotten progressively worse each year since he took the job. But, with our luck we will fire him only to watch him go win a SB with some other team, and if that happens you truly have to wonder about the state of our front office.
At some point in the 2or3Q I said they need to spend all of their available capital on QB/OL/DB/LB/RB/ST/whatever. I stand by that, those are the areas they are massively subpar in. I also said Charles James is the worst DB in the NFL, prove me wrong. I do like his socks though.
That's going to happen though man when the defense has to carry the team for most of the season because the offense can't score any points.
Not if the defense is any good. Now sure, they are missing a ton of players so it's not surprising that they played like crap, but still, if they keep doing their job, the Texans likely win.
At what point will they pull the plug on this Osweiler experiment? If they fail to win the division and thus miss the playoffs? Or, what if we barely make it into the playoffs and get blown out on our home field by Denver/KC? I hope its not KC, btw.
