I know it's too much to expect for everyone to realize it, but this loss wasn't Osweiler's fault. It was a loss due to terrible drops by receivers, a fumble by a TE, and the defense absolutely crumbling down the stretch. Also, piss poor coaching and play calling by BOB. Hopefully a decent number of the fans realize this.
In the third the O looks like it was hitting its stride. Play action was working and some runs were opening up. Too many self inflicted wounds later with dropped passes and missed blocks. In top of that Rodgers got into a groove.
It wasn't so much Rodgers getting into a groove as it was the secondary just not defending receivers.
Bob McNair simply dropped too many passes and Rick Smith was just letting the Packers WR's run free. Gotta be better.
Just because he wasn't *the* problem doesn't mean he isn't *a* problem. Without looking at stats or anything, this was one of Brock's better games of the year.
It didn't really matter that he slipped. There is no way we would have made it down the field and scored again when it took us an entire game just to score twice. Blue should have come in much sooner, and Osweiller should have thrown more long balls earlier. We always wait until desperation mode to get aggressive. Don't tell me our guys weren't open the entire game. Nelson was covered man to man in tight coverage and Rogers still found a way to get the ball right to where he could grab it. I'm sick of everyone giving Brock excuses every single week. We do stupid run up the middle get nowhere plays over and over, and our guys run two yards for a catch inside the marker the whole first half. It's not til desperation mode that we get any one bit creative, or even make any realistic attempt on 3rd down to move the ball. Another disappointing game, with an even more pathetic offense. I can't wait to hear Bill's remarks this week. Let me guess.......we did some good things, Brock didn't turn the ball over, we need to coach better.
Time tends to even everything out. A mediocre franchise is now a mediocre 6-6. Now outscored more than everyone in the division other than the Jags. How long will they keep trotting a mediocre product on the field? My guess is the Texans finish 9-7 or 8-8 and we have to hear garbage about them winning the division as if it means anything. That will be followed up by getting absolutely throttled and out played and coached in their single playoff game. The bootlickers will say "he brought us football" and the Texans will throw some bandage on the problem and the city will get conned into thinking the Texans will be worth a damn. I bet McNair is excited about Sunday dinner with his family and Rick Smith. Maybe they will have a Dr. Pepper social too.
Yeah but he wasn't even "a" problem today. He had a pretty good game, very comparable to what Aaron Rodgers did. He just had no help at all.
Yeah, but, it's not a 1 game season. Quit being so obstinate and agree that he is not the answer we hoped he was.
I know right! My favorite part was that 50 yard TD pass from Derek Carr to put us ahead and then that game clinching sack on 4th down by Mack. Ohh wait. That's right, it isn't Rick Smith or Grandpa McNair's fault.
What's the score? Judging by the melt down here, It's safe to say eggball Texans are on course for another L Rockets 13-7!!
