The National Football League (Brock Osweiller impression) promoting our agenda. Who would have thought.
As expected… https://www.houstontexans.com/news/houston-texans-to-induct-j-j-watt-into-ring-of-honor The Houston Texans announced today that J.J. Watt will officially be inducted into the Houston Texans Ring of Honor during the team's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Oct. 1. The former three-time Defensive Player of the Year and Walter Payton Man of the Year is the third member to be inducted into the Ring of Honor, joining Robert C. McNair and Andre Johnson. Statement from Janice, Hannah and Cal McNair: "We are so excited to have J.J. Watt join the Ring of Honor as our third member. Everybody knows how much J.J. means to our family, the Texans organization and the entire City of Houston. He is one of the most dominant players in NFL history and he created a unique and irreplaceable bond with our fans. J.J. has always kept a special place in Houston's heart and we're thrilled to welcome him back. On the behalf of the entire organization, we can't wait to give J.J. and his family the celebration he deserves on October 1st."
.... nice touch, doing it when TJ is in town. I could quibble with McNair's inclusion - though not passionately. But I do hope the Texans keep this ultra-exclusive. AJ, JJ are no-brainers. I think DHop and Brown could get there. Foster is a maybe. Obviously, if they win big with DeMeco, he shoots to the top of the list. But that should end any and all considerations. I don't want Owen Daniels and Matt Schaub and Brian Cushing.... They need to adopt a very high standard and stick to it. Play the majority of a HoF career with the Texans? Automatic. After that...
The next 3 ring of honor entrees are going to be Marc Vandermeer, John McClain and Toro...trash, trash, and trash...
Absolutely, this is the way. Criteria should be 1) spend substantially most of their career with the team, and 2) Hall of Famer or fringe Hall of Famer. So far, the Texans are doing it right, that's Andre and JJ only up to this point. I always felt the Astros retired too many numbers, it really should just be Ryan, Biggio and Bagwell.
Duane Brown for sure. Only player you didn't mention that I could see as a possibility is Chris Myers.
How is NRG's turf these days? I doubt we are in the high tier compared to around the league but just curious where we rank. Great turf can keep these players happy.
a 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder. If you would guarantee me Greenard will stay healthy for 14 games I wouldn't be trying to make fetch happen with every Defensive end.
