I do we need to learn how to win these close games going into next season. Remember we have good ownership, stay with your team folks!
Not to be overly optimistic but, the Texans have shown consistent improvement over the season. Granted they started off basically in the toilet so they HAD to get better ... The Jets have mostly floundered yet have gotten lucky in some of their wins, while the Texans have to some degree played better than their record indicates. The difference has been one or two plays in at least 3 games this season. Losing that game last week really sucked but, in retrospect when was the last time the Texans dug themselves a 14-0 hole and not only got out of it but were 2 or 3 plays from putting this game away decisively? Not much if ever. The Texans are maturing as a football team. Kuby despite some peoples so-called expert opinions on here is "head and shoulders" above Capers and Kuby is a rookie head coach while crappers is a veteran ... of blunders and excuses that is. The results part of the equation start this week ... Texans 21, Jets 16. GO TEXANS!
I think that's really selling the Jets short. The Patriots game was not won on luck, they beat the Pats square (they lost the other game vs NE by a TD; 24-17). All their other wins were taking care of business against bad teams (Ten, Mia, Buf, Det). They're being coached well - they're winning games against lesser teams, and losing to better teams. They've been respectable in almost all aspects of the game, with Pennington getting the ball to Coles and Jerricho reliably and Washington & Barlow combining for a decent run game. The run defense needs work, but the defense isn't a joke. Brick and Mangold were very solid first round picks for them in the last draft and their O-Line is far better than it was last year. Couple that with our defensive line sagging as of late, and these guys could get some good possesions against us. We actual mirror one another in several respects. The QB, WR, RB, and D-line situations are comparable. Dunta should be able to handle Cole or Cotchery, but whomever he doesn't guard might go off against the rest of our secondary. I don't think Mario is going to win many battles against Brick on his ailing foot, based on the looks of him Sunday. The loss to the Bills was demoralizing - to let a badly needed win slip through the cracks in the final minutes is a back breaker. Jets 27, Texans 17 Evan
the jets are pretty good actually, better than I thought they would be at this point. if the Texans can win it will be a solid win
If this were in Reliant I'd pick the Texans. But it's in NY. Remeber sunshine pumpers, with the exception of JAX the Texans have not won on the road in 2 years. Jets 27 Texans 14
If we release Cook, or don't play him, our chances to win go up drastically. Seriously, he gets maybe 4 touches a game, yet he's managed to fumble away two possible wins.
I didnt say the Jets were the Lions or the Cardinals. They're pretty good but they arent overpowering either. Meaning, we arent playing the Chargers which I surely am thankful for this year we would be roadkill. One note for what it's worth ... the got shellacked by the Jags 41-0. So there are issues with the Jets being consistent. Pennington manages the game well and Cedric Benson is doing a decent job at RB but they clearly miss a soon-to-be-retired Curtis Martin. Yes, last weeks loss was a bitter pill but we have a real coaching staff that along with the players will learn from their mistakes and be better for it! Would we have said the same about Coach Crappers' bunch? The Texans unfortunately still need more upgrades pretty much everywhere and another solid draft to become a REAL force in the division and the conference.
countin down the days till we draft adrian peterson. (even though wali lundy has shown some promise) texans: 17 jets: 24
Jets 23 Texans 17 I say we have a 10-7 lead going into the half...and then give it away with having the D on the field for way too long in the second half.
