    I know this is a worthy thread for you brother as KPJ’s starting role threads

    why release criminals with such violent crimes ? You know they will do crimes again

    @Os Trigonum
    Look dude who was in jail for kidnapping
    Comes out of jail and starts kidnapping

    Court records show Abston, 38, is a previously convicted kidnapper: he pleaded guilty to especially aggravated kidnapping and robbery in 2001. He was sentenced to 24 years and 11 years in prison respectively, although it is unclear how long he remained incarcerated and if he served his sentences concurrently.

    Tennessee authorities obtained surveillance footage of the kidnapping, which allegedly showed Abston running “aggressively toward the victim, and then force the victim Eliza Fletcher into the passenger’s side of the vehicle,” the documents said.

    It’s the same story if you release violent criminals

    I mean, the sequel to silence of the lambs
    Was predictable

    Memphis is to Tennessee that Dallas is to Texas,…heavy on crime and unfortunately bad city leadership…sad but unsurprising

    of course not on California level statewide but still this is what happens

    Could b many reasons.
    Folks like to believe everybody deserves a second chance or a shot at redemption.

    Filling up jails with criminals is costly.

    Prison guards or the folks at prison don't want to deal with it.

    Pretty sure U hear stories about how Asian folks in NYC get physically assault by crazy folks with criminal record that spans a couple of decades.

    What do u proposed on how to handle this? A violent crime is what exactly? Execution? Jail for life without parole?

    Yes recidivism is a big problem. I admit to not knowing much about it but it seems like the parole system needs to be better as at the same time there are nonviolent offenders held for too long.

    I don’t think we can incarcerate are way out of this as we already spend more than most countries in jailing people. Like with most other major problems this is likely a need of a mix of solutions.

    One good thing that Trump did do was push and sign criminal justice reform which does lower the incarceration of nonviolent offenders. The focus on jail should be about public safety as such we might just need to hold some people longer while making room for them by holding some people for shorter times.

    This sounds bad but make them do labor so they can be productive
    Working out and playing basketball all day isn’t bad , lots of non prisoners do that

    Your hero, Elon, thinks underpopulation is humanity's biggest problem and that we need many more people.

    You mean DeFacto Slavery?
    The Great Slavery Loophole put into the 13th Amendment
    So that after slavery they could re-enslave people by making trumped up charges and putting them in jail
    So now
    We have Private Prisons making billions on government funded slave labor

    He was a minor when he was charged and convicted of kidnapping. He served 17 years. Is every violent crime worthy of life in prison? If people are going to be released then prison should be more focused on rehabilitation. The guy may have been a model prisoner. Who knows? I do know prisoners, for the most part, are not given the tools to succeed in the outside world. I don't have an answer to these societal ills, but if we are going to throw people in prison without giving them the tools to succeed in the outside world we are exacerbating the problem.

    Oh what to do with violent murderers and criminals?
    Use them for scientific experiments?
    Maybe space experiments on the moon or a secret first attempt at a mars colony ?

    He was out on bond
    @SuraGotMadHops

    What’s the productivity left for him in the real world ?
    @rocketsjudoka
    If he can’t work , letting him live is a waste of tax payer money
