This guy is in the Reds head. I was listening to talk radio this morning... Oswalt has a 23-1 record against the Reds. Are you kidding me?? 23-1?? Sigh, I guess I can chalk this game up as an auto loss.
WLWW Harang will eat us up.. otherwise, good showing by all. Who gets Moehler's spot...Sampson? call-up?
I've been waiting for this game for a while, Roy vs Reds.... We see the real Roy tonight 7-1 Stros win
Sadly you may just get what you wish for... we were like 4-12 against yall last year... or something nuts like that. I like our young kids though. Lots of potential in our lineup.
It would be nice to see Pulino come up and get the start,do well gain some confidence and become the pitcher they have been hoping he would be. He has had a good start in RR, but who knows if it would translate to the majors.
A few minor league tidbits... Jason Castro's stats: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Castro C&pos=&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=488771 I'm pretty sure he'll start walking more as he gets adjusted but good numbers so far. --------------- Towles' numbers after 19 ABs with RR: .421 AVG .450 OBP .737 SLG 1.187 OPS 1 HR --------------- Chris Johnson is on the DL at RR with a hand injury. According to McTaggart, he got hit by pitch.
i think we (reds) can actually take 3 of 4, not saying it will happen. for the first time in a long time our pitching actually stacks up with the competition. would love to see us do better on the road this year
I love Jay Bruce. He is my current fave player on the roster. There are t-shirts here in Cincinnati that say "Bruce Almighty" on them. I had to buy one.
The Reds have some really nice young talent between Volquez, Cueto, Bruce and Votto. Cueto was supposed to have a breakout year last season but Volquez was the one that shined. He was arguably the best pitcher in baseball for the first few months of 2008. This may be the year for Cueto to final live up to expectations. Both pitchers have really nasty stuff.
yep he seemed like a good guy... my buddy stuck him out back in a high school tourney.... I guess that would be cool to tell your friends about, "see that guy on tv?, ya i stuck him out" lol
maybe the stros should try it. Pence for example... Keep the farm system strong, that is where it is at...
Quite the injury list for us less than 10 games into the season: Moehler, Brocail, Backe, Matsui, now Valverde and Keppinger. Berkman had a shoulder issue going into opening day. Boone didn't make it to opening day due to a serious heart issue. Then you have to consider Hampton's history, Ortiz missed all of 2008 after TJ surgery, Sampson is coming off elbow surgery, Lee missed the end of last season with a broken finger, Keppinger busted his knee cap last season, guy's like Erstad and Blum aren't exactly young so if they have to play more than expected... one of our few good prospects, Chris Johnson, is on the DL in Round Rock with an injured hand after being hit by a pitch...
