i think we get it together and sweep. i'm not saying that has broader implications for where the astros are going this year. i just think the astros will play with some urgency and the reds are just really bad. jennings' start tonight is big.
WLL. Don't bench Loretta and find a spot for him to play. Play him at first untill Scott is back because Lamb is a big slump right now.
Haven't made a prediction in a long time and I'm going to go ahead and point to that as to why the Astros have been playing terrible lately. WWW.
Dear Wandy, Please do not under any circumstance throw anything over the plate to Ken Griffey Jr. Thank you.
If Jennings looks good and Berkman say goes off and has a 2 hr 8 rbi series with another 2 extra base hits than we can atleast move forward with some hope that these two guys in which we were counting on might get it going thus getting everyone else going. NL Central 2007 = NL Central 1997 and 2006
Here's hoping for a spectacularly solid performance from Jennings tonight. Unfortunately, the Astros hitters haven't had much success against Harang (.250 BA) before this year, and Arroyo seems to own us with our lack of patience in the box. The good news is that Jason Lane hits Harang well (5/14 with 2 HRs and 2 2Bs) and is 1 for 1 off of Arroyo and also 2/3 against Belisle Maybe the Big Puma can come out of his slump this series: Belisle: 3/6, 1 HR, 3 RBI Harang:9/34, 5 HR, 6 RBI Arroyo: 8/25, 3 HR, 7 RBI WWW
If this team is going to have any sort of sense of urgency... there's no better time to bring it than right now... 6 games against very beatable teams. Its just so damn frustrating that only one week ago, they were at .500, with the Brewers floundering, Jennings coming back, and Lance not even starting to really hit yet. One disaster road-trip later, there's not much to look forward to.
I'd like to see Phil flip-flop Lee and Berkman in the batting order. Berkman seems much more comfortable hitting clean up than hitting third. I think this might stem from his taking over for Bagwell shock when Garner first hired on (although he was nails last year). Couldn't hurt, could it? Lee might get pitched around some, but if he gets on base in front of Lance and Hunter, it could mean better pitches to hit for those two.
