    Ok...some observations:

    1) Mouton can't shoot wortha lick when it comes tourney time.

    2) Loss can't be blamed on James T...he's the reason we made it this far.

    3) Damn Sydmill and his double-dribble!! AGHH!!! Inexperience i guess.

    4) Boddicker is GOD. LOL.

Here's to hoping Chris O. gets another year of eligibility back, Boddicker returns to his McDonald All-American status, TJ becomes a little less sloppy, and Brad Buckman provides some much-needed post-up game.

Man, I'm already missing those Runnin' Horns...I stared at the TV for 20 minutes motionless just thinking about everything that just happened. Jeez, I usually don't take losses this bad.

Maybe it's the fact that Mizzou made it to the Elite Eight and we whooped 'em three times this season. Oh well. Back to football season I guess.

I'm not really disappointed. I had zero expectations. It's not like we were supposed to win, and we never led during the game. The way we lost is tough to swallow, but that's motivation for next year. The guys gained experience playing at neutral/road sites, we reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since '97, and we've got a player in TJ Ford. Importantly we didn't fold.

Tomorrow, we move on to football.

    Good times.

UT needs two things for next year:

Someboby who actually can shoot. Further, damn, TJ I like your game but please work all summer on just 1 thing: knocking down the top of the key trey. It isn't that hard of a shot. If he learns this he will be the best college PG out there period.

A basketball IQ transplant. I couldn't believe how many times they walk the ball up and stood around until 10 seconds left on the clock to try to beat the defense on isolation. They were friggen behind.

After watching the game last night it is no surprise UT was 0-5 against Kansas and Oklahoma.

Final thoughts: The Jayhawks are going to MOP up the Ducks. Try an 85-70 final score of a game not as close as that score.

Man, what an awesome game last night. The crowd at BW3 was better than nearly every crowd that I've experienced at the Morgue. If TJ could learn how to shoot any jumper, he'd be one of the best, if not the best PG in the nation. Boddicker's not getting many props either, but he brought us back last night with his outstanding shooting. However, as always it seemed this year with UT, there were too many times when they played tight on the offensive end. But, this turned out to be a great tournament for the Horns, and as disappointed as I was leaving the bar last night, I feel good this morning. However, that could simply be because Mr. Overrated Defensive Player has played his last game in a burnt orange uniform.

Mouton was the key to this game.

BTW, UO looked like a much better team. I'm surprised we even came back.

Wow. The Horns will be scary for the next couple few years. Even next year - If Owens can come back...imagine having Chris, mature TJ, mature Sidmeal, and improved Boddiker on the floor. :p

I don't think it has anything to do with smarts. The defense was sagging all game because UT couldn't hit an outside shot. It was just too hard to penetrate the zone without the outside threat. The last few posessions, they finally picked the top man in the 2-3, which enabled Ford to get inside the zone.

And Mouton hadn't been doing anything for the last few weeks. It's not like he had played great right up until the last game.

Oregon was just a better team I thought. I couldn't believe UT had a shot to win in the end....a big testament to Barnes and his ability to get these guys to play so hard.

Oregon was mighty impressive on offense. That big guy in the middle was a defensive prescence early. I also think LUke1's length gave TJ alot of trouble.

Mouton has disappeared. If he had shown up, we may have won. Also, did Erskin play? I think the team gets better next year with more experience as well as Buckman and Paulino coming in.

Kansas killed the collapsing Ducks defense (if you can call it that)even though they shot relatively poorly from the outside. Oregon had a nice offense, but they had little interior defense, that was proven today.

Oregon was the better team but they had big weaknesses and UT easily could have won the game. It is really too bad Barnes didn't sign Fred Jones--I heard today he went to Oregon only because the Horns and some other schools didn't pursue. It was a guy like that --multitalented scorer who also has on outside game--that they sorely needed.

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but UT does need more ammo than they have. Against a good defense Boddicker (like any of the final 4 teams or UConn or Illinios) never gets those looks and is almost useless on the court. UT needs Ford to get a jumpshot plus an athletic player who is a dead ringer from the outside. They need more pieces than what they have.

And Freak, I usually don't double post across posts, I did once on this topic because I thought the first thread on it was dead. I will watch that though.

    Later bud
