Francis is no better than Olajuwon as far as I'm concerned. He's a traitor to the city. Screw Steve. What the hell is this going to do to the team now that he's said crap like this?!

I'm so mad I could just spit.

How many people saw this coming? I guess all the reading between the lines that people did in Francis's quotes prior to this was not unfounded. Oh well, Steve will just go ruin someone else's team!

What's this about? Is this an April Fool's thing or did I miss some news?

Read the article on the front page. Although I understand that April Fool's jokes have been known to happen around here.

This sounds like an April fools joke to me.... but if it's not, I think Francis was just saying that he would like the opportunity to go home, rather than not likeing his situation in Houston.

OK, all you guys who were talking about his ego were right - it is way too big. And now his comments about Eddie being in Houston longer than he will makes perfect sense - since he wants to play PF, he was obviously mad when the Rockets drafted Griffin and decided he would have to go elsewhere to be the only young up-and-coming power forward.

What a punk. Why can't he just play a team game instead of trying to be like Magic (since he is shorter, he couldn't go for center - he had to go for a smaller position).

As did I, Behad, but I was hoping we could coax more rubes into believing it and posting their outrage here.

Since Francis wants to leave for D.C., let's help him out. Obviously, the whole "young, good players" philosophy just doesn't work, so it's time to look at what DOES work. Our last several playoff years were built on a philosophy of 3 over-the-hill top-50 players on the court together. Maybe 3 wasn't enough? Here's what I propose (note: these transactions have not been RealGMified. Deal with it.)

    (1) Francis wants D.C. Trade Francis for Jordan + cap-fillers

    (2) Ewing is expendable in Orlando (?). Trade Torres for him.

    (3) Seattle needs to look towards the future. Payton for the #1 Pick, Kenny Thomas, and cap fillers.

    (4) Utah needs to start looking towards the future -- it's obvious their lineup won't win a championship. Malone & Stockton for Cato, Kenny Thomas, Moochie, and cap-fillers.

    (5) Portland, after flaming out in the first round again, needs youth. Mobley + lots of cap-fillers for Pippen.

    (6) Once Toronto waives Hakeem, we can re-sign him for minimum wage.

    (7) Once Denver fires their coach, hires Drexler, and fires him after an 0-12 start, we can coax Drexler out of retirement.

    (8) Find Barkley, put him on weight-watchers and slim-fast, and bring him back as well.

Now, we've got a lineup of:

Payton, Jordan, Pippen, Malone, and Hakeem

    backed up by:

    Stockton, Drexler, Barkley, and Ewing.

If three wasn't enough, how about 9?!?!? One thing is for sure, our running game will be much improved.
