The East has five teams with winning records and two teams right at .500. The West has 9 teams with winning records and one team at .500. All five teams in the SW Division have winning records.
I believe it was worse at this time last year. I believe it was two teams with winning records and two other teams at .500.
The East is much worse this year. Miami losing Lebron and Indiana losing PG. The Cavs still learning to gel and Rose is always injured. Freaking Raptors may end up in the finals.
This is why we need to re-work the playoff system: put in the top 16 teams and re-shuffle the seeding after each round, like hockey does (or so I've heard... I've never watched a hockey game in my life).
So when the Thunder are healthy out 8 seed is probably the Mavs (now 16-6). With the bas start the cavs are having, would any of the east teams make the play-offs in the west? If the cavs do not pick their game up before the play-offs this year will be just as bad as the early 2000 years, like 2002 and 2003 were the finals really were an afterthought.
The top team in the East, the Raptors, are tied with the 7th team, the Mavs. Yeah, it is conceivable that the best East team is worse than the 8th team in the West.
doubt any eastern conference team makes the playoffs in the west. They have the benefit of playing the other eastern conference teams like 52 games a year... In the west their record would be a lot worse.
