I just hope they improve and Milwaukee comes back down to earth....8 games out in May is unbelievable. DD
On this date in 2006, the Twins were 8 games back. They won the AL Central. On this date in 2005, the Yankees were 7 games back, they won the AL East. On this date in 2005, the Astros were 9 games back, they won the Wild Card. Say it with me now..."It's a long season."
Stros have struggled mightily with Webb, with the exception of new arrivals Loretta (7-21) and Lee (5-11). But Webb's been hit & miss so far this year, so we'll see. The other two Snake starters have been just about ripped to pieces by current Astros: Hernandez gets hit at a .330/.384/.462/.845 clip over 180+ ABs, with Biggio, Loretta, Berkman, Ausmus, Lamb, and Ensberg all hitting well over .300 in 10+ PAs. Hell, even Roy's 1-2 off him. Livan somehow won his only start against the Stros last year, but gave up 12 hits & 6R (4ER) in 6IP at MMP, he did about the same at MMP in '05 giving up 10H, 7R (5ER) in 6IP. Davis gives up a .312/.407/.479/.885 line in over 230 ABs by current Stros. Every Astro with over 4 ABs, pitchers included but with the exception of Burke, has an OPS of over .800 against Davis. Last year, Davis was 0-3 in 3 starts vs. Houston, with an ERA of 8.80. He was 0-2 with an ERA approaching 13 at MMP (where he's 0-7 in his career).
Or knock on nothing since I doubt what is posted on an internet message board has anything to do with what happens at MMP this weekend.
Anyone else hear Jim say that that woman in the stands was "Bogarting the cotton candy"? I wonder what he does on days off...
i was. couldnt tell from the camera work if that was on him or lee, but how the hell does mansolino still have a job? it seems like it's a straightforward and easy enough job if you're a basecoach at the major league level, where if you make like more than maybe 3 questionable decisions over a season, you should be replaced pretty quickly. manso is good for one every 3 games.
