I know the series doesn't start until Tuesday but I wanted to go ahead and get this out there. I will be at the Wednesday game obviously sitting in the D-Back family section. I wanted to vent here but I just don't have the energy(nevermind yes I do). I'll say that for anyone that thinks Jimy Williams is a terrible manager just be glad you don't have to watch Bob Brenly in action. I think I could cut out my left ball and dress it up in a D-Back uni and have an equal chance of it making good decisions as Brenly. I guess this his ineptitude this season is just proof that any moron can ride good pitching to a WS championship (although some of the moves he made almost lost it for them). Notice no John Patterson listed in the next section. You have a starter go 4 decent innings in a game that gets canceled due to rain. So what do you do? Do you set him to start early than the 5 days rest he normally gets(liek the Astros did earlier this season with Miller) or do you set him to start on his regular schedule? No you stick him in the bullpen(where he has never pitched from in all his years in baseball) for an extra week so that he doesn't get too overworked  . This guy is f-ing brilliant.

And now on to the Pitching Probables:

    6-17 -- Good (3-1, 4.07) vs. Not-so-Good( I mean Robertson) (4-3, 6.18)

    6-18 -- Webb 3-2,2.45) vs Johnson (0-1,5.87)

6-19 -- who the hell knows cause ESPN hasn't gotten that far listed, and I am too lazy to look it up elsewhere.

Fearless Prediction- I'll get to see my second game at MMP. I'll also get to see my second game at MMP for free. Also I will probably feel much better this time around than I did on my free trip to San Diego last summer where I puked my guts up after the game.

Damn Castor, you are on top of things. I was going to make the new thread a little while ago but got postponed because someone needed assistance. (i am at work). Nice post. I hope the astros can win this series. This sweep hurts...and the 4 losses in a row....and two series losses...

I get tired of people ripping Jimy too. When we win, it's because of the players but when we lose, it's Jimy's fault. I didn't hear anyone saying anything positive about him during the winning streak last week.

This week was tough with the close losses and all. We need to sweep the d-backs and get some confidence back. I think we played better than the 1-5 roadtrip would have you believe. Time to start another winning streak.

You know I sent John Patterson an autograph request care of the Sidewinders and the next day he gets promoted. It was a really cool looking insert too, crap! :(

Yeah, it's not his fault that your 3-6 hitters can't get a base hit with runners on.

Alan Ashby kept blaming Hidalgo for the loss yesterday because of the balls he misplayed in the outfield, but you gotta blame to whole team for yesterdays loss. 14 runners left on base. Heck, Alan should be saying that if Hidalgo doesn't go deep in the 4th, we're looking at a shutout.

Yeah, if nothing else, Hidalgo canceled out those two errors with his HR and throwing out the runner at home. Actually, he more than made up for it since the two errors only led to one run.

Alan has really been getting on my nerves lately. Every time an Astro makes an error or doesn't make some play in the field that allows the other team to score, he harps on it the rest of the game like that's the only play that had any effect on the outcome of the game.

He should still get it. They normally forward those things on but it may take a little longer for him to get it back to you.

That's the spirit. After your epic WWW at fenway prediction, a little reverse psychology is in order.

Is it just me, or does it seem an inordinate amount of our home runs this year have been solo shots?

Not just you. That's always been the case with us. Just like most of our hits come with 2 outs, but not so much this year.

Kent continues to be our only clutch hitter, and Ensberg is still knocking the top off the ball; glad we got the W tonight. Hope we can keep it up, I don't quite trust Villone yet.

Just Villone? This starting staff doesn't scare the beegeezus out of you? Every time they give the ball to Lidge I am shocked and thrilled. How long can they keep it close to the 7th?
