if the chiefs are going to win this game, they're going to have to earn the victory. no baldy is going to be giving them starting position at the houston 30 yard line . revenge is bet served with a full set of hair.
Chiefs have lots of defensive talent on paper, but their front 7 was shredded by the lowly Chargers. If Danny Woodhead and Melvin Gordon can run all over them, I think Lamar Miller might do alright. Chiefs will also try to bring the pressure, both because they like pressure and to try to jumpstart the "D" after a poor game with the Chargers, so big games from Stephen Anderson and Braxton Miller on checkdowns.
This game makes me nervous (as do all games lol). I hope we come with a vengeance. This Chiefs team does not want to come out slow like they did against SD. Their defense is stout, and Kelce can do damage. Brock has to limit mistakes, and the line has to hold up. The secondary also needs to bring their A game. Hoping Hal can redeem himself. Still not a fan of JJ playing now; he looked slow and a bit overweight. He did bring it at the end though, so that was promising, but a lot of work to be done. I think it'll be a sloppy game. Texans lose a nail biter unfortunately, 14-13.
The Chiefs are missing a lot of people on defense so I think that helps the Texans in what would otherwise be a defensive battle.
I expect the offense to do well, but I don't see our defense holding up in this one. This is a game I have penciled in as a loss. Chiefs 27, Texans 20
He's feeling good health wise (so he says), so this is his training camp/preseason for getting back to game speed. Don't think he'll progress faster by sitting and he's not hurting the team by being out there.
I'm having nightmares about Kelce. I'm not sure who we have that can slow him down but we also have matchup issues for them so I'm going KC 24 HOU 27.
7th in ESPN's power rankings: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17531081/nfl-2016-week-2-power-rankings-green-bay-packers-new-england-patriots-seattle-seahawks
Andy Reid totally outcoached BOB in the playoff game. Their quick passing game completely neutralized JJ and that was when he was at full strength. I can see the chiefs dominating the time of possession and winning this one 23-13.
Really BOB was "outcoached" simply due to the foolish decision to start and stick with Hoyer. Any other QB that was on the Texans roster at any point that season would have given the Texans a chance to win that game. I think the Chiefs will be the team that struggles to score against a bulked up Texans defense and the offense should be able to pick apart their patchwork defense that is missing some important pieces. I think it'll be hard fought, but the Texans have no excuse losing this one.
We have to be able to run and pass for 1st downs, a few 10-12 play drives and we can flip the script on them. When they do have it, play press coverage and force deeper routes which gives our front more time to rush. It can be done and we've got the players to do it.
According to Chiefs fans, it was crossing routes that they just couldn't defend in week 1 and with Fuller stretching that defense and the D line having to worry about Lamar Miller, it could be a big day for Nuk and Braxton Miller along with the TE's eating them up in the middle of the field on short to intermediate routes.
Chargers played not to lose when being up 27-10. They were the better team in Kansas City. Chargers had no rush, and got eaten up by short passes to the RB out of the backfield. Chiefs DL was getting blown off the ball on shotgun runs. Should be a big day for Lamar Miller.
