We might actually have some favorable pitching matchups. I hope the guys can get Roy some runs off of Wainwright.

Do you get the feeling that league will never throw Pence another fastball until he can hit the breaking ball?

Perhaps for guys who have great breaking balls like Wainwright.

Most average pitchers' breaking balls can be hammered/recognized by above average hitters. Pence has laid off a few of them already. But Wainwright's curve is good enough to fool the best.

Pence makes the adjustment, hits the hanging curve.

Watching Lee bat is a thing of beauty...

Is there any doubt that this guy would be the ULTIMATE post-season hitter? Where every RBI situation is a lot like the one you just saw? The Yankees could certainly use some of that.

Regardless, Lee is a step above any other hitter we've got right now... and it would be a treat to see this guy in a high pressure/playoff type situation.

Are the Cardinals fans complaining about our "cheap" ballpark still? If its anywhere else, they're losing this game right now.

This game is why baseball is the best sport in the world. The defensive plays, the battle between Lee and Wainwright, Oswalt's craftiness and competitiveness. I love it!

Agreed. The guy is absolutely incredible to watch at the plate. Hell, he's the only hitter that even remotely inspires fear into the other teams right now.
