How good is their Run Defense? If it is pretty Good TEXANS: 14-10 [one defensive TD] If it is bad 27-10 Texans Rocket River
He was also Kubiak's boy before the season. They have given no indication whether he will be back next year or not. I personally believe that McNair is very aware of the discontent among the fans due to basically picking Carr over Young and that will factor into their decision.
Screw that. This franchise has lost too much. For a season that's gone the way this one has for various reasons, I think finishing 6-10 and on a winning streak will be great for the franchise.
the more I think the more I can't see how carr is not going to be back. to many things to consider. who's gonna take carr's contract? the texans aren't going to take the cap hit, they don't have much cap space. what's your alternative. jeff garcia? he's 37. jake plummer? is he really that much better? he was benched on a playoff team for a rookie. if they draft someone they might as well ride it out was carr and let him has some competition.
At the very least, he won't be named the starter until after training camp. Giving him the starting job without any competition would be a PR nightmare. IMO, there's no way McNair will go through that again after this season.
It sure seems like that is the case, though with Sage hurt the Texans really had no choice but to play him. DD
The only guy I could see coming here as of right now is Jake Plummer, just because Kubiak had so much success with him. I think forget Jeff Garcia not only cause he's 37 but because he's having success in Philly and has said he doesn't mind coming off the bench for McNabb; he wants to play for a winner. Who else would be left that would be better than Carr; probably no one. I'm thinkin the best strategy is to bring Carr back (unless there is someone clearly better out there) and have Sage compete with him for the starting spot. Then try and draft a qb you can develop. --- Regardless, the game's a must-win to build confidence for next season. With all the things that have seemingly gone wrong this season, the team has managed 5 wins so far, and if they get another they will triple their victory output from last year. I'd say that's a success. Lose, and you get recurring memories of 2 season's ago. This team is trying to build a winning culture so it's in their best interest to win...not to tank.
