Please keep this to talk about the series. As usual no Play-by-Play, or general Astros talk. If you need play by play see one of the many other sites that have game casts. 9-13 Chris Narveson, LHP vs. Brett Myers, RHP 7:05 on FSH 9-14 Chris Capuano, LHP vs. Bud Norris, RHP 7:05 on FSH 9-15 Dave Bush, RHP vs. J.A. Happ, LHP 1:05 on FSH
The old versions of Cap and Bush had our number not sure about new ones. I say 2 out of 3 with Myers, Bud and Happ pitching this series.
I'll ask it again. Why would Brett Myers not at least deserve some Cy Young votes? I know he isn't going to win it, nor should he with the seasons that some other have had. But you cannot tell me that he isn't in the top 10 this season.
Myers has lasted at least six innings in all 29 of his starts - the longest streak in team history and longest in the majors since Curt Schilling's run of 35 straight for Arizona in 2002. He also dropped his ERA to 2.91. From Yahoo
holy cow. I just took a look at the box score for Myers tonight. Jesus that's a hell of a job he did tonight. what a career year for this guy.
whew. good job by Lindstrom closing the door there. I was afraid Papa Osama was going to blow it for us.
Oswalt Myers Wandy It's amazing that this team was so bad the first half of the year with that as the top 3 in their rotation. Obviously Wandy struggled early, but still. Poor Roy is still only 12-13, probably wishing for all those no decisions from last year. And like I said before about Myers getting Cy Young votes, it is probably the best year for pitching I've seen. There are so many quality choices. If Myers makes it all year with going 6+ innings and continues to improve on his WHIP and ERA, it probably will be enough to garner somebody's vote.
Forget that, I still think we can catch the Cardinals. We will have to play the Red better than we have so far, but they are well within our range.
