Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread). 4-24 Yovani Gallardo, RHP (1-1, 4.58) vs. Felipe Paulino, RHP (0-0, 0.00) 7:05 on FSN 4-25 Jeff Suppan, RHP (1-2, 8.56) vs. Mike Hampton, LHP (1-1, 3.12) 6:05 on FSN 4-26 Manny Parra, LHP (0-3, 8.16) vs. Russ Ortiz, RHP (1-0, 5.93) 1:05 on FSN
Really interested to see how Paulino pitches tonight. If he continues to impress the Astros are going to have a decision to make with Backe, Moehler, and Brocail all coming back soon.
i'm gonna call WWW this time feeling realstic about it. The Brewers have not had their pitching on.. Gallardo pitched well last time out, so I'm scared of the first game and hoping Paulino can match him. Should get to Suppan, and *will* get to Parra
The potential is very great for back to back series wins. With the Brewers pitching like garbage and our current starters comparing well to their 3, I like our chances. I'll also be very interested in how Paulino pitches tonight. It'd be so nice to have an unexpected surprise in our rotation this year.
It's amazing how the homo sapien male has evolved and can now watch 3 or 4 sporting events at the same time .
Round of applause for Q... a heck of a play. Hunter with another outfield assist... they still don't respect his arm.
That hit was ridiculous for a baseball game. I could almost feel Quintero's brain slosh around inside his skull from that hit. I hope he's okay and there is no delayed effect. There should be an auto-out call on plays that obvious. I guess the MLB won't change that procedure until someone gets seriously hurt. Well, it could very well happen after seeing how vicious that hit was.
This offense is pretty terrible right now. Berkman is absolutely putrid at the plate. And geez those double plays really suck.
But he was blocking the basepaths. You can't let a catcher just get in the way of the runner like that and not expect the runner to run into him.
That was possibly the best defensive inning we will see all year long out of the Astros. Bourn with a Play of the Year type catch followed by a great 6-4-3 double play started off with a backhanded pickup and toss from Tejada.
Once again, our bullpen lets us down. Man, this is becoming an all too common theme. You could feel the momentum shift to the Brewers after Hall's 3run HR with 2 outs against Hampton. This team is very, very frustrated right now. You could see it with Pudge and Coop getting tossed and Lance getting pretty vocal on his last AB strikeout.
There's no doubt the bullpen was a let down tonight, but still the offense isn't doing too well these days either. 4 runs on 4 hits is efficient, but it's not very good in terms of actually getting guys on base.
