Talk about the upcoming series here.

    4-29-- Maddux (2-3, 5.94) vs. Oswalt (2-2, 3.86)

    4-30-- Hampton (0-1, 4.91) vs. Miller (0-2, 5.47)

    5-01 -- Reynolds (1-1, 5.74) vs. Robertson (1-3, 7.99)

Some really interesting pitching matchups. Atl throws out an Astro killer and 2 ex-Astros. I'm just glad the 'Stros are finally home from this road trip!

6th straight series loss in a row. Excellent.

What scares me is your projection appears far better than your grammar.

What's wrong with my grammar? Is it the use of fragments?

It could be he means that "6th straight series loss in a row" is redundant.

    Oops. :)

Does redundency equal bad grammar? :D

I suspect it is a form of grammatical error :). Personally, I like the one word sentences. Short. To the point. Although, I disagree with your prediction. The Astros will prevail in this series and get back on track.

    I hope you're right.

Silver lining so far this season is Tim Redding. With him emerging as a quality starter combined with the fact that Miller and Oswalt will not continue on this path leads me to believe that we'll turn it around really soon. Plus, we're still only 2.5 games out at this point (even though it's extremely early), and I think everyone would call our season so far, without looking at the standings, a disappointment.

It is time for Oswalt to pick the slack. Enough of the struggling.

Isn't it ironic? Now that we have our 4th and 5th starters doing a descent job + a solid bull pen with Chen, Dotel, Linebrink, Wagner and of course Brad Liege, our 1st and 2nd starters are pitching like Jose Lima?

Anyway I am not scared at all. In fact I am excited about our bull pen and the potential Jeriome and Redding has shown so far. Oswalt and Miller will come around starting from 'morrow and hopefully Moeller will get healthy and 'in-form' again real soon (though linebrink was excellent as a filler).

    Go 'Stros!

PS. What happened to our solid middle relief bull pen stalwart of last season (his name has escaped me)? Is he just a victim of numbers as a result of Liege's emergence or is he injured?

You mean Rickey Stone? Well, he's the middle-man out right now between Munro, Lidge, and himself.

Munro and Stone have pretty much the same pitches, but Munro might have better stuff and control.

Lidge's stuff is top-notch, and his control has been better than expected.

If only Stone were left-handed... then we wouldn't have to put up w/ Bruce Chen.

    Nick,

Chen isnt suited to be a lefthanded setup man. He came to the bigleagues as a starting pitcher, and fared decently with the phillies before embarking on his tour across the country.

We are winning this series. After a 4-9 roadie, where we should've gone 6-7 and the fans wouldnt have been b****ing as much, a 10 game homestand is much needed.

My prediction. It's Lance and porno mustache man's turn to carry the load offensively, and Oswalt and Miller step up to the occasion and the Stros get at least 2 out of 3.

Oh, and Bobby Cox will be ejected at least 2 of the 3 games for being a big whining baby.

    :D

    I hope you're right.

Yessirree, bobrek. It is tough not to lose six straight in a row.

I think there are a lot of people writing the Astros off a little early. I kept having to remind myself that it is still early in the season and not to be so pessimistic. One thing to consider. The 'Stros just came off a 13 game road trip that went from California to Montreal and covered 3 time zones. That is one tough stretch. But now that it is over they don't go out on the road for near that long and I would bet they don't cross the country on to many more trips either. The season is still young and I think we are poised to turn it around. Here's hoping we start with the Bravos.

1)We are playing pretty good ball right now

    2)You guys aren't

    3)Historically, we handle the 'Stros

Add that up and it amounts to nothing. I wouldn't feel confident betting for either of our teams right now. Lets see which one wants it the least. :(

    Lets go astros

I've got your rally monkey right here! But I dont feel like spending a night in Jail for using it.

    ;)

I really hope Reynolds doesnt tear it up against us. I would love to see 10 ER in 3 1/3 innings pitched. That would be great.

I'm going to tomorrow's game. I hope Maddux doesn't shut us down. The only other game I've gotten to so far this year was our shut out loss to the Cards. It'd be nice to see some offense.

Screw this. I'm in a weird place in my life, and I've got to stop this thinking negatively. RM95's Girl and I will stay together after this break and the Astros will win this series!!!
