While his stuff looks fine under the hood, he’s had a little bit of a worrisome step back so far this season, and I kind of get the feeling he might be starting to get in his own head. I think he needs a really good start to get some confidence. Not only that, I think the games over the next 2 weeks have an outsized importance in how the Astros season is going to go, so they need wins now.
Like Berkman used to say, if you look at your schedule and don’t see any cupcakes…you’re the cupcake.
Why put Alvarez in front of Paredes when he has said he likes seeing pitches from the batter in front of him?
Alvarez already stated that he likes hitting 3rd better than 2nd. Not that a manager should just be a pushover, but when Yordan speaks you gotta listen. He’s our best hitter and it hasn't been close for years. Tinker with Cam and Brendan or even Yainer, but leave Yordan alone while he gets out of his early season slump.
This is all wrong. Pena should be 2nd. Yordan at 3rd. Paredes at 4th. Hell, paredes could be 3rd and yordan 4th. But wth do I know. I don't get paid the big bucks.
And he said he didn't want to move too much up/down the order. I thought we hired Espada because he's a good people manager.
