All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 7-15 Cole Irvin (L) vs. Jake Odorizzi (R) 7:10 7-16 Adrian Martinez (R) vs. Justin Verlander (R) 3:10 7-17 James Kaprielian (R) vs. Luis Garcia (R) 1:10 Looking at a couple of sites, my normal one, has the Sunday matchup above but others still have it as TBD. I think Urquidy may go Sunday so take the above with a grain of salt.
So he says Urquidy, TBA, TBA...but also says Dusty said Odorizzi, Verlander today and Saturday. So is it Urquidy or Odorizzi today? Does Dusty even know?
Altuve out today and then day to day. Yordon hopeful for the Yankee's double header. Brantley had discomfort swinging the bat. Dusty said not a setback, just not a step forward.
Yordan is my biggest concern, although I would say the player we could not afford to lose to injury is Maldonado.
I wonder if Chas, one of our close to MLB starting pitcher prospects (not Brown) and a lower level guy would be enough to get Ian Happ from Chicago? He has another year of control so his cost might be higher than that, but he would fit great in LF
I don't think that is the type of guy that the Astros would "buy high" on. Career splits are not good, and you trade a top 100 pitching prospect in baseball with no assurances Justin Verlander returns. The Cubs would take this trade before you could even finish saying Hunter Br......DONE!!!!
There is zero chance I would trade Hunter Brown for him, I don't think you read my original post right.
He did say "not Hunter Brown"...but you're right. Not a move we need to make. Even if Brantley were to be out for the rest of the season, I'm confident in a combination of (a healthy) Yordan and Chas in LF.
I probably didn't... Very pregnant wife and a little one fighting sleep issues. Hanging on by a thread here. Sorry bud.
I would take Happ over Chas 10 times out of 10. If Brantley isn't back our LF/DH combination is Yordan and Chas/Siri/Dubon/Diaz. Our offense, when fully healthy, is outstanding. When you include playoff performance history, i'd take us over any offense in baseball. But our roster depth is really bad. We need a couple of upgrades
Against their double A lineup and fan attendance. All in all, it's pretty even with us still slightly ahead.
