I can't believe we're at the 7 year mark since the 6 pitcher no-hitter. That's insane. I left for Boston about a day or so later to watch the 'stros play at Fenway. Doesn't feel like it's been that long. Geez, I'm getting old.

Go 'stros. A sweep of NY in NY would make for a fun weekend. :)

That was the last time I was in Houston. :(

My Dad and I had come down to visit my uncle and grandma. We were sitting at the table playing Euchre while the game was on in the background. When Oswalt got hurt I just knew we were gonna get pummeled in that game. Turned out to be the beginning of something special.

That game was finished by the greatest bullpen combo of all time:

    Lidge
    Dotel
    Wagner

We get to Andy tonight but JV has been pitching a lot better and Hughes is a stud so losing 2 out of 3 is the way I see it going.

Somewhat related, in an indirect way. But they are playing the Yankees...and I didn't want to start a whole new thread just for this. My wife and I took a trip to DC this past week, and made it out to the Baltimore/Yankees game over the weekend. I've always wanted to watch a game in another park, and Camden Yards was on my short list. It's definitely a nice park, although I think MMP is every bit as good. The food, even though it's run by Aramark too, sucks by comparison. If had to do it again, I'd get some grub from a street-side vendor...that's one thing MMP could use, but it would never happen at least with Drayton running the show.

Yankees fans...man they're hardcore. They went after a poor guy wearing a Red Sox cap, but he made that decision to wear it and he took in stride.

    Anyways, enjoy:

I actually admire Yankee/Red Sox fans because they are dedicated to their teams like no other but dam they where annoying as hell a couple of years ago when they invaded MMP.

Psh half the people that are Yankee or Red Sox fans couldn't even name one player on either team.

It's easy to be a fan of a team with an excess payroll of 150 million dollars every year and is always in contention.

When the Sox came to MMP I'd be up getting a drink and I couldn't even tell who got a hit because the crowed was 50/50.

I'm sorry but half those fans just see the Logo and that's how they become a fan.

Myers good at getting out of trouble this season. Let's see how this goes. Yankees have no easy outs for the most part.

The yankees are pretty much better at every position when matched up against the stros.

I like Manzella's bat to improve as the season goes on... he's got a pretty big frame for a SS.

    His defense is impressive.

Was gonna say a similar thing. What has gotten into Manzella. Offensively then a good play on defense. Did some work yesterday too.

I agree that there is some untapped power in Manzella's frame.

Having said that, here are Adam Everett's and Tommy Manzella's career minor league stats:

    Everett: 2083 PA, .714 OPS (.259/.346/.368)
    Manzella: 2201 PA, .694 OPS (.268/.321/.374)

They didn't play on the same teams but they did play in the same leagues for much of their time in the minors. Manzella is also 27-years-old. I wouldn't expect anything more than marginal improvement across the board. If he defies all odds and makes significant improvement, great.
