Partly in jest... partly because people always say "I bet team x would be able to win their fair share of games in this professional league"... and partly out of frustration. I'm still with the team through it all. Jeez... u guys got all uppity on me. Guess I deserve it. First time I've had an issue with people in over 14 years here... serves me right for stickin with my guns for once.
Damn... it was a joke. Mostly making fun of myself and the previous arguments. Again, don't want to piss off anybody more than I already have (also, when I said "people in charge" was referring to Astros staff, not you). See above post. Bad seasons bring out the worst in me, I guess. Or maybe its the 3 bad seasons in a row. Regardless, don't want to have any enemies here, especially over a single topic that is silly and has apparently become as polarizing as it is. Starting to remind me of the David Carr days.
Everybody's frustrated or beyond at this point. Believing in the organization is all we really have left to hold onto.
Pretty amazing we haven't had to add a catcher so far. Both profile as defense first backup catchers. I'd probably call up Garcia because I'd be more concerned about Perez's playing time.
No issue, it's just that your Springer and Springer-related complaints have reached insane proportions. Nobody is going to deny you your stance on the matter. 20 years from now, when he retires 10 home runs shy of the all-time record because of the time that he got cheated out of this season, you will be the first person who we all think of.
They're laughing up here: http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/texas-rangers/20130819-photos-rangers-have-plenty-of-laughs-and-cross-the-plate-plenty-of-times-in-blowout-of-astros.ece?ssimg=1152199#ssTop1152234
Let them... I still feel "bad" for them. To get as close to a world series championship as they did and to blow it all away... I don't think they will really appreciate that (or loathe it) till they're back to being medicore again.
That's what I was telling my rangers fan friends and those rangers fans sitting around me at the games the other weekend. They just said "at least we win games when we get there". So I responded with "but just one strike? Twice? Daaaaaaamn".
I hope the Astros can crush Travis Blackley tonight. He had a decent ERA last year with the Athletics (3.86) while starting 15 games. He has given up 2.6 HR/9 innings this year as opposed to 0.9/9 innings last year. However, he has only given up 1/10 of those Home Runs on the road, which was in Baltimore before he was released. Hopefully the Astros can get to him early. He has not pitched more than 2 innings in a year so may not be well-conditioned.

Pretty pumped about tonight's game for a bunch of reasons, not the least of which being that I can watch the game on tv rather than attempt to close 800 popup ads and risk damaging my computer to do so. Let's get some payback, boys.
