Anyone else worried about Tim Redding having his famous "great stuff" for this one game only? Why do I get the feeling he's going to shut us out? WLW
I'm going to all 3 games... sadly, the forecast is rain all week. But usually the way it goes here, it's likely to just be scattered and at worst, a small delay or 2. Anyway, WWW. Wish I could see RoyO pitch, but it's cool.. i'll enjoy being at a game instead of work on Wednesday! (if you see me on TV, i'll be wearing my Biggio jersey or Qualls shirt!)
Biggio Pence Berkman Lee Loretta Ensberg Bruntlett Ausmus Woody That's the line up tonight. I'm going to go a head and call this one a loss.
Biggio leading off on the road is freaking madness, LHP notwithstanding. It's like Garner is throwing the season. Scratch that: it's like with the season flushed away, Garner is now throwing games. He's got his 3K, he's the (second) greatest Astro of all time, he's a fantastic guy and a sports icon in Houston. Now put him 7th in the order and move on. Or, better yet, put him on the bench and see if Chris Burke can find himself as a Major League 2b. Craig was the greatest leadoff hitter in Astros history. He was awesome. Now, hit him 7th or bench him. Holy crap. I mean, seriously. Crap.
Burke has had two roles since his recall to the majors: starting 2B on the road and starting RF against lefties (platoon partner with Luke Scott). The latter particularly makes sense, given Burke has crushed lefties with a .290 average and .855 OPS. Yet, in a game where both criteria are met, he's on the bench? Strange.
Anytime you give Woody a lead, it only takes him one inning and a couple of pitches to give it all back.
Ok, as depressing as it is, it was to watch the stros play...And yes, they finally play a game up here and this is the thanks I get... Fock!!!!
jesus, that game sucked to be at. Pence and Berkman *need* produce in the middle of the lineup for us to have a shot.. Also, I really wanted to see Lamb PH for Ensberg late against Rauch. Of course, Lamb PH the next batter and struck out.. but still.. if you're gonna do it, do it for Ensberg and then pinch someone else for Bruntlett if necessary.. that'd be my call.
We will be lucky to score a run against Redding. Heck, we should thank our lucky stars if we can get a hit
