Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess).

8-22 Brad Peacock, RHP vs. Carlos Carrasco, RHP 6:05

8-23 Collin McHugh, RHP vs. Danny Salazar, RHP 6:05

8-24 Brett Oberholtzer, LHP vs. Trevor Bauer, RHP 12:05

I predict two more starts and Nitro takes his spot.

Makes sense. That way they can call up NiTro after 9/1.

44-48 over our last 92 games, team continues to be competitive.

Reminds me a bit of the end of the 2000 season...where the team started playing well, but it went largely unnoticed because their record for the first half of the season was so terrible...

and then the next season they won the division!!

The 2001 season was one of my all-time favorite Astros seasons (that didn't result in a pennant ;))

    1. Berkman becomes an MVP candidate in the first season where he makes the opening day roster (and quite possibly his best season ever).
    2. Berkman and Alou take turns gunning for the batting title
    3. Bagwell's last truly "great" HOF-like season
    4. Biggio's comeback from the ACL... (and one of his last truly "decent" seasons)
    5. Billy Wagner's comeback from elbow surgery
    6. Astros debut the brick sand jerseys (that ultimately replaced the black ones that I guess were too hot).
    7. Carlos Hernandez having the most spectacular combo debut and subsequent flame-out (injury) in Astros history.
    8. Wade Miller emerging into an up-and-coming ace (although even then, people knew it was a matter of time before he would get hurt).
    9. Vinny Castilla
    10. And finally, the debut of Roy Oswalt... who any other year would have ran away with the rookie of the year, if it wasn't for the debut of that Pujols guy.

Looks like 70 wins is a strong possibility and a 5 game lead on Arlington right now.

    Huge improvement.

I want them to finish better than the red sox so I can troll Gammons on "integrity of the game."
