Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess). 5-24 Tommy Milone, LHP vs. Erik Bedard, LHP 7:10 5-25 A.J. Griffin, RHP vs. Lucas Harrell, RHP 6:15 5-26 Bartolo Colon, RHP vs. Dallas Keuchel, LHP 1:10
Not sure if this is significant or not, but 5 of the past 8 games the A's have played have been 1 run games in which they won all 5. Milone pitched 6.2 innings of decent baseball against us in a blowout win, Griffin turned in 6 innings of 2ER baseball against us for a 1 run victory (4-3), and Colon has pitched 12 innings of 4 run baseball against us with zero walks, 2 wins, and is mostly likely larger than the last time we played him. Winning a game, or two, against these guys after being outscored 19-45 in the previous 6 games against these guys would go a long way for their confidence I would imagine. Hopefully, we handle them better than Aramark does sno-cone vendor training seminars this time around.
Sooooo Bedard let the first three runners on base against the A's... again. Is he still recovering from the butt injury or is he just a terrible pitcher? I have my answer.
((I won't clog this about Bedard after this)) Hitting a batter on an 0-2 count after retiring no one before that? Corporan looked to be clapping him on after the 0-2 count and it just seemed like Bedard is just doubting his stuff after having his signals mixed. I'm an overly optimistic fan, but Bedard is just done.
And who here had Corporan with a .900+ OPS on May 24th? The guy has just been stellar thus far and a bright spot on this squad.
The 10 RBI in those games aren't too shabby either. He knows there are guys in the wings and that he has the ability to be a player with this team in the future. Really glad to see him put it together for a decent period of time this season.
cracks me up that nobody has commented on last night's finish, while posts are still being added to several other threads in the forum. the big league club is just a sideshow right now.
Lucas is just getting squeezed at the plate and Oakland is taking advantage of the pitches in the zone... this hurts.
Couldn't get a clean read, but Harrell made zero eye contact with Porter on his way out to the mound, handed him the ball and said, "something something b***s***"... not a happy camper, but I hope that he can bounce back from this next start.
