What a game, I'm still rewatching plays.

HPU was a total disaster, he changed multiple ABs in critical situations for both sides
Framber going full dips**t on that comebacker
Altuve getting robbed on 2 well struck balls
Umps all missing the blatant balk on the Yordan pickoff
    Judge's ball to the wall
    Abreu destroying Stanton
    Pressly's 9th

    What a game.

    Astros bullpen this post season:
    25 1/3 IP
    11 H
    2 R
    8 BB
    33 K
    0.70 ERA
    0.75 WHIP

    5 games
    3-0
    3 for 3 saves

That's the equivalent of having all Mariano Rivera's as your entire bullpen.

Just for good measure I had to look it up:

    Mariano Rivera post season career
    0.70 ERA
    0.76 WHIP

It just has felt like Mariano Rivera level dominance this post season for the Astros bullpen, and I wasn't wrong.

I like the way you think, but the pitching advantage definitely switches over to the Yankees at least for game 3. I want them to win them all, but if you can just get 1 of the next 2 setting up a potential Verlander close out in game 5, that would be fantastic. And even if you couldn’t get the game 5, you still have 2 in Houston to get 1

Junior has a 2.56 career ERA in the post season.

Lance McCullers is going to strike out 12 Yankees Saturday.

I call game 3 a wash with the starting pitching.

And Javier has been arguably our best starting pitcher since August 7th (1.33 ERA) and the Astros won in his last 6 starts.

Plus the Astros fare much better against left handed pitchers.

You're really selling our guys short.

We aren’t playing all that great but we keep finding ways to win and the pitching has been nothing short of fantastic.

Agree with Buck, HPU was unbelievably bad in this game, for both teams.

Tucker acting like a near home run was a lazy pop up.

Abreu in the 8th? Talk about rolling the dice and making my sphincter turn into pin needle.

Time to close this series out quickly. I don’t want to come back to Houston. Finish them off in that disgusting cluster of shantytowns and barrios masquerading as a city.

ETA: Ron Darling at it again. Last year screaming yes when Bellinger hit a 3 run homer in game 5 against the Braves. This year yelling No when Breggers popped his. It’s unbelievable. Can’t stand that ****.

It's been solid and I'm really impressed with how well Pressly has played. This current performance at least puts a scare into how an opposing team are going to play us. In the last couple of seasons I don't think teams feared our bullpen as much.

Was at the game tonight and one thing I really thought they should have done. Maybe I’m wrong.

With Tucker on Second and Yuli at first I would have attempted a double steal. They weren’t holding Yuli and he was half way to second and Tucker has speed couple with a catcher who isn’t the best at throwing out runners with Diaz up to bat with one out.

You take away the double play and put a sac fly in play.

    is that being too aggressive?

If you nerd out this way on the reg and you have a wife that will still take then we are on good terms.

    My woman hates October baseball.

Pena had a .715 OPS and is a gold glove finalist. Hardly DH material.

Nope. During Yuli's AB Tucker had 2nd base easily stolen at least twice but pitches were fouled off.

Double steals aren't as popular nowadays, but I don't hate it.

So Ron Darling, basically a lifelong Met, is a blatant Dodger and Yankee fan?

Altuve is just playing law of averages and saving it all until the World Series should we get there.

    4-D Chess move right there.

And the starter who has been almost unhittable in the second half of the season and no hit the Yankees in the Bronx has only played 1 inning.
