you really have to search hard to find conspiracies about the Astros being given help by the MLB to win the WS last year. At "worst", Harvey was an inspiration for the players. No different than quite a few other cities that had events happen before their sports team won a championship. This loss definitely sucked, but the Astros were in a far harder position last year. They'll tie it up tomorrow.
Sucks finding out two of the guys you brought over for a repeat fail under pressure. This is something you can't teach. They are either clutch or they are not. So far it's looking like these guys are not.
Batters will actually have to take a bat out of the dugout tomororw otherwise it doesn’t matter who is pitching. 2 runs against this Sox team isn’t going to cut it.
Hope Hinch learns from this game (don't try to go multiple innings with Osuna, stop using two guys you left of the ALDS when the team still has a chance, etc.) Also the bats can't be without blame either. They have been far too sporadic especially at home for some reason.
Big win for the Sox tonight, obviously they were the better team. Throw this one over our shoulder and focus on the next game. As for Hinch, he needs to be smarter with his bullpen. Smith? Really? How about no. Maybe McHugh? Even Harris? Hell, I’d even through Rondon over Smith. I’d say throw James, but he’s not ready. Honestly. For Osuna, get a grip. Throw some strikes. Onto Game 4.
Roberto Osuna was absolute NAILS in the postseason up until this point. He just cruised to two outs like it was nothing, then after two INCREDIBLY lucky hits, he hits TWO batters without throwing ONE inside pitch? I'm convinced those HBPs were intentional, he threw this game, just like Gary Sanchez threw game 2 last year.
2-2, 6th inning, ALCS gm 3. Such a CRUCIAL time to be putting one of our biggest scrubs in. Of course that was going to happen. Coulda still pulled him after the one out, but decided to stay stupid. Then Osuna. Hinch was awful today. Gotta regroup. Gotta keep their mouths shut. Gotta hit the damn ball too. Such a sad performance in such a huge game.
Hinch is just playing his role, making sure we lose this series. Just like Dave Roberts putting in Yu Darvish in game 7 of the WS. Pre-or-****ing-daned.
Well didn't expect this... Down 2 1 so no matter what series will go back to Boston.. Unless of course the unthinkable happens.
At this point just gotta hope this motivates the team(specifically the bats) to turn it up for the rest of the series
I'm still flabbergasted by the insistence on throwing inside. Two, 2 strike counts ending in HBP then another inside for the HR.
So it was "momentum" that loaded the bases in the 8th, hit two batters in a row and gave up a grand slam? I'll have to remind Hinch to keep "momentum" in the bullpen the rest of this series.
