I know this has been brought up previously but there is no way we are going anywhere with the caliber of players we have. Apart from Tmac, it is and was definitely obvious last night that there are no shooters on this team that can hit from outside in the crunch. No players who can drive with confidence and score on a half court set or even a fast break. There was af ast break last pm with Head and Alston that was horrible and Head ended up settling for a 5 ft jumper that although it went in should have ended in a layup or foul.
I hope you are reading this Mr. Morey. Trade deadline is coming and you should make a move for a J kidd or Richard Jeff. type player.

Yes, this has been said so many times, and frankly I don't think it's true. This team is as deep as it can possible be. A month ago, Landry was the 15th man on this team, and now he's making significant contributions. I really think we have a good mix of players. The whole team is just starting to "get it", so it's only a matter of time before that fast break and executing in crunch time become second nature to them.

I still believe a consistent penetrating/playmaking guard is necessary to make a good runagainst Dallas, Pheonix, Golden State

those teams are bad matchups. probably will be against any team that has yao ming on it. we happen to have yao ming. thusly, we design our style of play around him. doesn't mean we can't beat 'small-ball' without adding some x-factor.

as much as i agree with you that we would be a better matchup for the teams you mentioned if we acquired jason kidd or jefferson, but i don't think you understand how impossible it would be.

this team is loaded with talent. some believe it would be wiser to package some of the backed-up talent (james, francis etc.) rather than to keep them and they may be right. however, the point is that we simply are not going to get a richard jefferson or a jason kidd.

What has changed from the beginning of the season to now? Why was it that before the season started, we were poised to be the number one team in the west, and now all we can talk about is how terrible our team is and how we should trade away our superstars?

The answer? Nothing has changed. This team has the talent and potential to be a great team. I think it's up to Adelman to find a consistent rotation for our guards. With McGrady out, the rotation was fairly stable, and we saw what that did for Alston and Head. Bonz had a good run too, but then his injury took some of his minutes away. Remember the few games where the second unit consisted of Head/Brooks running the floor?

Now that McGrady is back for the rest of the season, I think our rotation will stabilize and things will really start to take off.

There's no chance the Rockets can get a player of the caliber of Jason Kidd or Richard Jefferson, so forget that.

We have guys who are more capable/skilled scorers like Mike James and Aaron Brooks. Adelman apparently doesn't trust them at the end of games.

I totally disagree with you. We need a Kobe, Lebron type player. They usually hit their shots in the crunch. No, we need steve nash, tim duncan, keep yao ming, get lebron james or kobe (both interchangable), and carmelo. Try to get them for cheap, say the MLE. Then we take phil jackson for head coach, move coach A the the assistant coach. Finally we hire JVG as the D coach. We ask the city of Houston to pay more taxes in order to afford the bench players. Then FINALLY, we trade steve francis for KG because KG will be unhappy being #2 to houston. So pierce and ray allen are comming along because KG is their dawg. So then FINALLY, commissioner stern says, yo what up yao, my fault dawg, i should fire those refs and hire those YOFs on CF.net. Then finally, I can be happy.

HA HA! OK I went overboard with calling for a J. KIdd. What about a Steve Blake or Martell Webster. All I was getting at is that we are not going to cut it with these shooters. Lay off the Soy sauce Kikkoman .
