Ming is putting up less than 4 shots a game. How many shots do you believe he should be taking in order to find his shot? I for one, believe he should be taking around 10 shots a game. He needs to be given a chance to get into some sort of a rythym.

I agree. He's being ignored, and other teams know it too.
10 would be about 3 times what he has been getting.

I would like to see them put Yao in more of a high post face up situation to where he can shoot over his man or get wide open jump shots off penetration rather than having to beat his man with his back to the basket.

I'd like to see the guards feed Ming on the post when he calls for the ball...this way he can get into the rythm of the game for once. But knowing our guards...I doubt it

Are you counting shots or possessions. He has several shot opportunities taken out of his hands by rude opponents.

Interesting comment about Barron Davis by last nights game announcer. He said Silas (Spelling - the Hornets coach) left Davis on the bench the entire first year and told him to watch and learn.

I am happy to see Yao get playing time, but only if he has earned it. I think just giving him minutes in hopelessly overmatched situations is a mistake. At this exact moment, Yao is often over matched.

    Brigher day are ahead.

IMHO, at least 1 touch in the offensive set for every 2 minutes he is on the floor. 16 minutes = 8 touches minimum.

The number of shots would vary - he's doubled, the shot is an offensive rebound put back, defensive strips, etc...

I don't know how many shots he should get. I think at this stage of his career it is impossible to put a number on it. I would like to see the Rockets go through Yao Ming in offense a little more, even if it is just as a passer.

Against Seattle he made a very sweet pass to Glen Rice cutting to the basket in the paint that would have been an easy 2pts but Rice was not ready for the pass and fumbled the ball away.

I agree that Yao Ming needs touches in order to get comfortable with the ball but I also think that it should be not done at the expense of winning a game. This is Rudy T's problem. It may take some time but Yao will become very good.

They are healthy, better rested, had lots of practice time and are facing a team that had a back to back. They should get Ming more involved tonight since he has now had some good practice time. Rice and KT will be better tonight. Hopefully EG continues from last game. Mooch will be better. :D :D :D
