Poesy played well for us this year, but you have to wonder if thats something for this year only. Maybe just trying to get that contract ext. I remember Francis and mobley talking about getting Odam and loving to play with him. I believe Posey plays better D. Odam is a better passer and is longer. If the Rox have to chose who do you go after? Lamar Odom James Posey Los Angeles Clippers Houston Rockets Position: F Position: G-F Height: 6-10 Weight: 221 Height: 6-8 Weight: 215 College: Rhode Island '01 College: Xavier (Ohio) '99 Player file | Team stats Player file | Team stats 2002-03 Statistics 2002-03 Statistics PPG 14.6 PPG 10.8 RPG 6.7 RPG 5.1 APG 3.6 APG 2.2 SPG .86 SPG 1.28 BPG .84 BPG .18 FG% .439 FG% .411 FT% .777 FT% .833 3P% .326 3P% .306 MPG 34.3 MPG 30.3 Why can't they go after both? What is the deal with Poesy? Is he a strait up freeagent or do we/he have an option for next year. Play Posey as the backup 2 and some 3. This would give Francis the chance to play off the ball with Odam sharing point duties. It will give us a long D minded, running back up 2 and 3(incase Boki doesn't play well). We could go with this line up: Francis/Mochie Cat/Posey Odam/Boki/Rice/Poesy Griff/MoT Yao/Cato We could also then trade Rice and Griff for a diff. type of PF. But even if you just resign Posey and add Odam I would think we could do some damage next year. Thats with just getting the same production from the pf spot.
Where have you been for the last six months? Everyone and their momma on this board wants Odam, and for some reason I doubt giving up Posey would upset any of them.
We are over the salary cap so we can only use the MLE or veteran minimum to get any FAs. Odom is a restricted FA and Clippers will match any MLE so there go the chance of getting him unless we do some sign and trade which is unlikely because we don't have a cheap player who is better than Odom Clippers desire. And Posey is also a restricted FA. We will likely match any offer up to MLE (hopefully less than MLE but definitely no more than MLE) for Posey. We can have Posey but not Odom. We can never have both. I think that's the answer you are searching for.
the problem with odom is he is a major injury risk and he is also a major off the court risk. there is no doubt that he is an extremely talented player, but does he have the work ethic and desire? i think i would take a less talented but harder working player everyday of the week. i'm not saying this is posey, but i am saying that as an argument against odom.
odom not odam...odom. didn't you notice when you cut and pasted his name??? i hate to be a pain in the ass, but it makes it real hard to lend you any credibility when you can't even spell the dude's name right.
I say...KEEP POSEY!!!!! He was phenominal the last two months of the season. His usual hustle and "D" was there, but , miraculously, he found a killer stroke from three point land. If he could produce like that for an entire season, then that is exactly what the Rockets need. All or most of his shots came within the flow of the offense, not from iso's or forced shots. Keep up the good work, James.
I think Odam was an ally of Lothar of the Hill People. (PhotoShop experts need to work their magic). I don't know who the hell Poesy is.
