...although bad for the wallet. :(

Here's some of the games scheduled to release this month (dates according to IGN/Gamespot lists):

    PS2:
    SOCOM III 10/11
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 10/11
    Jak X 10/18
    Shadow of the Colussus 10/18
    Ratchet Deadlocked 10/25
    Resident Evil 4 10/25
    Soul Calibur III 10/25

    GC:
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance 10/17

    Xbox:
    Stubbs the Zombie 10/17

    PSP:
    GTA: LCS 10/24

    DS:
    Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 10/11

    PC:
    Age of Empires III 10/18
    COD 2 10/18
    F.E.A.R. 10/18
    Quake IV 10/18

    Multi:
    The Warriors 10/17
    Blitz: The League 10/17
    Battlefield 2:Modern Combat 10/25

Of course, I know I missed at least a few games, particularly on the XBX/GC/DS side of things, not to mention the games that just recently came out (for example, Castlevania: DoS and Trauma Center on the DS). Nevertheless, that's an impressive list of games. It doesn't really drop off that much next month either with the Xbox 360 launch, Dragon Quest 8, Mario Kart DS, SOCOM PSP, Star Wars Battlefront II, and more.

So, who's going to be broke in the next month or so? :)

I'll get Shadow of the Colussus for sure. Ico is one of the best games for the PS2 and hopefully this one will live up to it's potential.

SOC looks completely sick ~ especially considering it's on a PS2...

I'll buy this in a year when it's down to $20 -->

I'm going to be working on Ico for a while, but once I finish it (and some other games), I'm going to look into getting SotC. The good news is that I believe it starts off at $40 (maybe even $35 or so at Fry's or something); might be able to snag it up at around Christmas or so...hopefully. :)

To be honest, I barely even heard of the game, let alone followed it, so I'm no expert on the game's development. But after some searching, I came up to the conclusion that it will most likely not make that date. Here's what I got from their forums:

So it sounds like the game is in the final stages of testing, but still needs a few more weeks, especially if a bad bug shows up.

    *grumble*

I can't buy anything. Everything's tied up in the 360 and a couple of games. Dang it why must we buy presents on Christmas? A simple "Happy Holidays" should suffice.

    Did you play Socom 1 & 2?

If so, what was your name.

It's been like an early Christmas for a almost a month now, definitely. Not only that stuff in October, but September was killer as well.

Shadow of the Colossus is going to be love it or hate it. It is, essentially, 16 boss stages with a lot of empty space between.

But it is one of those games that is close to a work of art in of itself. It all depends on the kind of gamer you are.

    Socom 3 should be huge.

Romancing SAGA (PS2) could be good, as well.

It's been draining since the first week of September as it is. I've found myself buying a lot more DS games than anything, suprisingly, since I hardly used the thing until the last couple of months. They've gotten great reviews, too.

A few more, from Sept. on:

    XBOX:
    FarCry: Instincts
    Ninja Gaiden: Black

    DS:
    Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
    Trauma Center: Under the Knife
    Lost In Blue
    Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

    GC:
    Battalion Wars

    PC:
    Fable: The Lost Chapters
    Black and White 2
    City Of Villains (10-30)

    Multi:
    Ultimate Spiderman
Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood
    NBA 2K6
    NBA Live
    Tiger Woods 2006
    Mortal Kombat:Shaolin Monks
    Burnout: Revenge
    X-Men Legends II
    SSX: On Tour (10-11)

Is there a release date for this? ..It better be good, it's been in development for almost 3+ years now.

DOD do you like 1-3 a lot? They are much cheaper to buy now, so I am looking at them.

Uhhhh... that's... so... ****ing... awesome...

My position on SotC was to wait for the price to drop, but if the reviews are good enough I might pick up a copy sooner.

Still, I recently bought X-Men Legends 2 and NBA 2k6, prepaid for SSX On Tour (picking it up tomorrow), and I'll probably get Tony Hawk's American Wasteland when it comes out in a week. Don't know if I should be burning $40 on SotC, too...
