Like a forum member said, we have to move from September baseball, a very difficult month for our Astros, 11 and 16 record, ouch. We are 1 and 0 in October, scoring 21 runs, a record for the organization. We beat a pitcher that was going after his 15th victory so the guy is no slouch. Today we are facing Hellickson, a pitcher that is pitching much better in the second half, and for some reason does better in that ballpark. Lefties hit better against him, but righties will hit homers (Please, play Carter, he can hit one today). McHugh will have to pitch good as we are facing a guy that should have a average to good game. He struggles in the first inning, we need him to start sharp. Should we play Marisnick (could hit that homer) and have very good defense, or play Tucker, with below average defense. Texas vs Angels, the ball is in Lewis hand, and Santiago, who walks many hitters have a slight advantage over the Rangers hurler. The thing here is LA plays the Rangers good, and we struggle vs Texas. Today, if Twins loses, they are gone. Ventura vs Milone, interesting game. Lets not forget the Yankees game, they are facing Baltimore, Nova vs Chen, advantage Baltimore, and second game Severino vs Ubaldo Jimenez, if the rookie loses the game, then they will have to win tomorrow.
But we don't deserve to be playing october baseball!!!!! we're undefeated in Oct. 162 game pace. <.378 against left handed, right handed and no handed pitchers!
Lets hope that our october is the same as our april, great to begin, great to end, and average in the middle
We should play Marisnick unless he goes 0 fer and makes an error, then hinchster would have been dumb for playing him gomEz should Play today unless he is hurting or unless he strikeout too much, then he no shuld play in October, he good for 1 game stints in septeMber always not ocTober unless he is gud today then good play him neshek should not play at all october unless it is today, in that ballpark and vS only left or right hand hitter he struggle, but if he good today he should play but pRobably shouldn't though unless hinchy want him to and he gud mChUGH need pitch weeel turday we need him be gud...he good in october probably but havent seen, if he not good octoBer pitcher hinch shudnt play him at pitcher Carter could hit hr today hope he hit hr he seems to be a stud in october with 2 rbi and only 1 game. still only hit .200 but that a 324 rbI pace so he half to play but Gattis never played in october so not sure he culd be good but we know caRter great october so tough decision cause LF neither too gud on defense but CarTer hit so many rbi in October can't bench but Gattis really big guy wtih beard
Wow! Twins losing, Rangers losing, and the Yankees too? Could the Astros take the top Wild Card spot or win the Division? Interesting 48 hours this is going to be.
Yankees will lose the first one, Twins losing (looks like they are done) and Angels tied at 5 in the 6th. Later tonight, second game of Yankees and Astros.
Another run in October is Royals and Blue Jays for best record. Right now they are tied, and Royals winning 5 to 1 in the 9th.
Yes, looks like only 3 things to look for. 1. Who wins last WC spot. If Astros win one of next 2, we are in. If we lose both, then Angels need to lose tomorrow. If they win, and we lose both, then we play one final game vs Angels. That game will be played at Houston. I think Astros will win one of the two, and go to the wild Card. 2. Where is it going to be played? If N.Y loses both games, and we win both, then is going to be played at N.Y. 3. Toronto and KC are tied, so lets say KC ends up first, then Astros will play the Yankees, then KC and then winner of Toronto and Texas
Mr. Cardpire, lately you are writting much more than me, so..... I don't mind you writing at all, that is what this forum is for, but why do you need to rip me????? I don't do the same to you.
Yeah looks as though the division is gone for the Astros. It still ticks me off cause they were in the lead for almost 90% of the season and they just gave it away. I'll be rooting for the Blue Jays to knock out the Rangers. Just win these last two Astros. Just these last two.
