Well what can I say? This Rockets team is the same as last year in more than one way. 1. They cant finish a close game. 2. They play down to their competition and seem to take "easy wins" for granted 3. They struggle on the road. This jazz team showed more smarts, heart, hustle, and determination than the good guys tonight. They certainly dont have more talent or size. The jazz fans were in full support of their team...it was deafening at times. This is a team with NO superstars....just good team basketball and a good home crowd. Dont get me wrong...I wore my Rockets colors with pride...I think I may have been the sole reason for a few jazz missed FT's due to some well timed shouts from the upper deck in the Delta center...but alas...I couldnt play the game for them...I couldnt even make them take it seriously and play with urgency. I couldnt make them box out...I couldnt make them rotate quickly...I couldnt pass to the open man...I couldnt hit the shot for them...I couldnt will them to win...no matter how hard I tried. I think that the front page described it perfectly...PITIFUL! This team is better than that! They must learn from this experience. Fans at home...you too must learn from this experience! Tonight it was snowing at the Delta center...and it was well below freezing...both on the way to and from. The center is in downtown SLC and you must park in lots and walk...just like at TC but with 3-4" of snow and ice on the ground...and more falling. This game was on local broadcast TV. The people still came in droves and they stayed and cheered till the end. The jazz are doing great at home...I think they have only lost one there so far. The team pretty much SUX...its doubtful they make the playoffs...but even the people in the $$$ seats were on their feet. We NEED that same home court advantage. PLEASE REPRESENT AND SUPPORT YOUR ROCKETS!
Come on Rockets' fans... gotta represent! Even if we stink.... we don't at nearly twice as many wins as losses... but even if, they need you to out do the spazz fans. Believe me, I'd be there but I'm in Dallas (and I an at AAC when the Rockets play all 2 of those games here -already been to one of then this year). I feel some of the collapse on the court when away, may come from a feeling that not all of the seats are filled at home for them, the way they are at opposing arenas... so they really feel all alone on the road... and they really may feel not enough people care at home... As a famous line from a comedy hit said... "I'm ready to go in now coach. I know there's a lot ridin' on it... but it's all psychological." Let's build up our teams' confidence before the win column gives way to the loss column... shall we? Please? For cryin' out loud there's 10 million people in the greater Houston area, surely there could be 19,000 of you go to at least one home game a month!
The Houston fans deserve better.....I think the Utah fans can appreciate the hustle and smart basketball....and the Houston fans would appreciate that too, if we got it. DD
Yeah sure! not when the fans got tortured by the same stupid playmaking decisions over the years by the dynamic duo ,SF and CM....make us want to vomit every time...sadly!
