How the hell is it that Rafer attempts more shots than Yao when his % is no where near Yao's level. It seemed like a lot of time when Yao spit the ball back out to repost they wouldn't give it to him... either that or drive it in.

The reason Yao missed those shots i think is because when he finally did get the ball, he thought this is my only chance to score so i'll shoot it anyways even though i don't have a good position or i don't have the ball where i want it.

THe reason why JVG put Rybo and Jho in there it looked like was because they weren't passing Yao the ball. Or rather they'd pass him the ball, he'd spit it out, and they'd all get exited and try to shoot it with their crappy shooting %.

well obviously you saw the game so you would of "observed" that everytime yao touched the ball like 3 mavs sprinted towards him... kinda hard to take a shot with 3 guys around you.. that was the mavs game plan and it worked 13 points for yao

You cant blame yao...no-one on the rox except yao needs to be guarded..since none of them can hit an open shot..so they just play a zone..and have all 5 near yao at all times..so when he gets the ball..he'll at the very least be triple teamed
This also creates poor spacing in the lane which gives yao less space to maneuver.....the rox are probably one of the saddest teams in the nba when looking at non-injured players on the roster..what we picked up 3 waivers that no-one else would play in the league..and these ppl are actually getting playing time..So its everyone else's fault except yao....and yes..JVG is partly to blame as well...he keeps making bad subsitution calls...and if he expects to play STRO at all next year..he needs to train him to handle the ball...every time he touches the ball he loses it..its very sad to watch.

dumb threads are getting annoying. pretty obvious why yao didn't attempt as many shots as others have said..if you actually observed the game as the thread title says

This has been brought up in the last three games but out spacing has been horrible and that makes the double and triple teams really doubly effective.

I'm sure JVG has been screaming about it but it's as if our shooters are trying to get a foot or two closer before they brick the shot. Other than Yao this team is playing with zero confidence right now.

So JVG is to blame because Stro can't seem to hold on to the ball on a consistent basis, yeah, that makes sense

Funny thing is Stro actually had a better handle on the ball than Juwan did last night. ;)

yao gets plenty of touches. when there are 4 players guarding him he passes. that's why the guards will have more shots than yao.

if we had tmac they couldn't afford to throw 3 or 4 people at him. they would have to stick to a usual double team. if we had a couple of shooters out there then they would hesitate on double teaming him at all. besides, even if they did we would just hit a 3.
