Here's a good read on Obamanomics. It's way too long to post here at 8 pages. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/24/magazine/24Obamanomics-t.html
I told you guys and girls about my new show. Today, I had John Talbot, author of Obamanomics on my show. Please take a listen! Very lively and spirited interview! I want to hear what you all think, about Talbot, the talk-show host Dan Cofall, Obama, and Republican policy. Here are the podcasts: http://feeds.bizradio.com/~r/TheWallStreetShuffle/~3/431133146/20081024_2.mp3 http://feeds.bizradio.com/~r/TheWallStreetShuffle/~3/431133145/20081024_3.mp3 ENJOY!
The podcast wasn't too good. Just as Talbot was about to explain the 6 major changes Obama was going to make, the host cuts him off and lead him away from that path. The interviewer should have gone Katie Couric on him and pulled the meat and potatoes and challenge him on details.
I don't listen to much talk radio, so sorry if I sounded critical of your show. It just felt like a tease and left us hanging. Talk radio may not be good format for economic policy discussion, so maybe it's not the interviewer's fault.
I think you were right in some respects to interrupt the guy for editorializing on his talking points, but it would've been better for the listener if you could nudge him to cut to the chase instead of offering a defense of the president. That would be my slant with a moderate level of knowledge on the issue with a slight liberal bias. But I do think the time constraints wasn't the best medium to discuss the nuance he had to offer. I still haven't finished reading his lengthy yet fascinating NYT article.
