Going on right now. god q & a going. Savanah Guthrie from MSNBC (you know those pinko liberals) asked if Obama is not getting that his policies were rejected. the question was a result earlier answers that obama gave about people being frustrated because of results. guthrie was pretty agressive about getting him to say people rejected his policies and his answer was perfect the polices are not his agenda, they were a result of an emergency. how soon we forget. people act like obama came in wanting to spend money on stimulus, on bailouts (which was approved under bush anyway).
didn't watch, but how many times did he mention the words "I inherited this recession" his blame game failed.
no, his fix game is unpopular because people are impatient. but I'm glad he got them in place before the idiots could block
Impatience is the key. People want these problems fixed and fixed immediately when that is not realistic at all.
i think health care was hated more than the recoveryact or tarp. Not sure how that was not a rejection of his agenda.
I think the biggest gripe people had was his vilification of business. People also realize that the increased regulatory, reform and health programs has probably contributed to the unemployment rate. I agree that TARP was needed but think that all these sweeping changes (costs and expected costs) could have waited till the economy was on stronger ground to sustain the costs and proposed increases in taxes.
I don't disagree, and that is his agenda. I think most American who have decent health care coverage through their jobs and haven't had major health issues don't see a need for reform. its a pretty agresssive policy from that regard. but mccain and obama ran on hcr
He did if you watch Fox on a regular basis. I have heard the same meme from many Fox viewers, but when asked to specify anything that Obama actually did that vilified businesses, there has been a universal silence.
Sort of like the answer you get when you ask republicans how they would balance the budget or what programs they would cut.
Calling Bankers fat cats and saying he wasn't elected to help to help them Attacking the Chamber of Commerce and their fundraisers Calling for Criminal Probes of BP Biden saying 'we're going to control the insurance companies' Those are just a few divisive, anti-business sentiments. At this juncture we need business to feel confident in the future to invest and use some of the trillion + dollars on their balance sheet. Those comments don't make businesses or business owners feel confient.
so bankers didn't almost cause the second great depression? BP shouldn't be probe for the biggest oil spill in this country's history we can argue about insurance companies but I won't other than pretty soon health care is gonna be a luxury that most americans can't afford, something needs to be done becuase that situation affects everyone i don't know about the chamber of commerce remarks
Those are hardly anti-business. Bankers had been guilty of driving the economy into the tank. BP had been guilty of a huge environmental spill and then lying to congress in their investigation. Obama was doing his job to protect the U.S. Insurance companies largely responsible for disasterous state of of health care in the U.S. What he did that was pro business was give small businesses tax breaks for providing health care, propose giving small businesses tax breaks for new hiring and research, cut taxes for most small businesses. Obama has been a friend to most businesses and to small businesses in particular.
