Looks like the shine has worn off Barack. Given that he has accomplished nothing, that doesn't surprise me.

    Summary of Obama presidency:
    Iraq withdrawal schedule: unchanged
    Afghanistan war: ramped up
Efforts to curb global warming: unimproved
    Bailouts: same policy
    Economy: worse
National balance sheet: like a banana republic's
    Lobbyists: still in control
Foot-in-mouth disparaging comments about special olympians and police officers - complete success

    Obama disapproval hits 51%
Rasmussen’s latest poll of voters shows for the first time that more voters disapprove of his job performance than approve.

This comes after he got another hour of network prime-time to sell himself and his health care plan.

Scott Rasmussen polls actual voters, which is more expensive — but more accurate — than polling adults who may or may not vote.

He released early findings of today’s edition of Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll on the president.

30% strongly approve, 38% strongly disapprove.

    53% oppose the Obamacare.

37% say the deficit should be the priority. 20% say health.

His supporters will likely say he is trying to do too much.

I say it is because he has accomplished too little. The economy can wear a president down.

When I started college a few years ago, I went in wanting to go into politics. I soured in a year. Im a conservative but had ended up really thinking McCain was not worth it either. Being the unique individual that Obama is gives him an un-polarizing way about him. It was interesting to see the country more united than it had been for a bit. I knew his policies were still largely doomed to fail us, but the entire fall would be on more than just this current presidency. The amount of fiscal restrain we would need to really turn the entire deficit around and fix the system is long past the point of plausible. The worst of it, is that we as individuals on every financial level have huge tax burdens. If we didnt have the burdens, society would be much more apt to allow a all-for-one philosophy at this point.

But its not working. PEOPLE around the nation, the individuals, they know that something is a stinkin' with this healthcare thing, and that at best, is risky.

Obama could take his idea, make it simple and make it work. Encouraging competition in said markets is good. You can do that without restrictions, without consultants. But its this huge thing. A man is one mind and a body. For our government to endow anyone with such things at birth sends the wrong sign to the mind and body. It is why plants and animals generally survive.

I said well before he took office Take the press and cynical imprints on culture, media, blogosphere, and the selfishness of endowment that is bred into the people would shred him like GWB.

I thought it would take longer.

Dreams are one thing. Reality is another. Universal Health? Withdrawing from Iraq and Afghanistan? New Jobs?(which cannot existence unless the job pays for ITSELF and then more) Which his dont. Saving Detroit (which operates at a loss) Protecting and saving the corrupt in the financial zones because we believe without them we will fail.

Most of this is on multiple presidents. But if we wanted to fiscally re-route the country successfully it should have been talked about a long time ago.
Obama is hand-tied by the same monster he is a part of. THe monster that wants to destroy both Obama and itself, not realizing that one is tied to the other.

We live under the assumption we are too big to fail... Our policy is that if we are going to make an assumption, we are going to ride it to the end.

    huh.

    "likely voters"=white, middle-class 30-45ers?

    color me unsurprised.

That said, while we're on the trend of accomplishments...I think more or less that Obama has been mediocre, but this hyperbole, six months into a presidency is laughable. I KNEW Obama would receive extra pressure, but this is ridiculous. People are calling for his "Waterloo"...f****** 1/8 into his presidency.

He's trending more and more like Reagen (who had 45% approval ratings around this time), for the sake of perspective and the utter stupidity of judging a president so intensely in his first six months.

...um, your chart interpreting and memory needs work.

Obama never had 80%+ approval ratings. Bush didn't even have 55%ish ratings until close to his second term. Bush's chart goes never goes down in the first term of his presidency, it kinda skyrockets up.

And Bush happened to have 9/11 fall into his lap...where EVERYONE and their mother loved America and then wasted perhaps the greatest political capital ever given to a president by launching an illegitimate war and being his incompetent self.

Are you joking? Have you not been paying attention? Dow above 9K for the first time in a long time. Companies actually reporting profits? The bleeding has stopped and the recession is in it's final stages, yet you say it's worse?

    You have no cred.

Use a more unbiased source. All Presidents have "honeymoon" periods..then there ratings drop. Clinton was below 50% at this same period of time. When u try to push an agenda, you will lose approval. If the agenda works, then the ratings will eventually go back up. That's why SMART presidents don't govern by approval ratings. Talk to me in say...3 years..........

Unemployment approaching 10%, earnings have largely been boosted by cost cutting, not by the more recovery-indicative revenue growth.

The bleeding hasn't stopped, the pace of blood exit has simply slowed. big difference brah

you're the one without cred, sorry.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/121880/Obama-Gets-High-Marks-Leadership-Empathy.aspx

    From Gallup

Obama Gets High Marks on Leadership, EmpathyEven after slight decline, two in three say he exhibits these characteristicsby Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- Solid majorities of Americans believe U.S. President Barack Obama is a strong and decisive leader and say he understands the problems Americans face in their daily lives. The president gets slightly lower marks on two other personal characteristics -- being able to effectively manage the government and sharing Americans' values.

These results are based on the latest USA Today/Gallup poll, conducted July 17-19. The poll was conducted at a time when Obama's job approval ratings have fallen slightly, though his overall image remains positive. A Gallup Poll conducted earlier this month found 66% of Americans saying they have a favorable opinion of Obama. His favorables and his ratings on most personal characteristics exceed his job approval rating.

Coincident with the decline in Obama's job approval rating, each of the four personal dimensions tested in the July 17-19 poll is down from the prior readings in April, near the 100-day mark of Obama's presidency. Those April character readings were generally the most positive Gallup has found for Obama since it started measuring Americans' views of his personal qualities in March 2008.

Even with the recent drop in the character ratings, Americans remain more likely to say Obama is a strong leader than they were during the 2008 presidential campaign. His current 59% rating for managing government also exceeds any of the measurements taken during the campaign. But his latest scores for understanding Americans' problems and sharing their values have dipped below where they were just before he was elected president.

The recent decline in Obama's character ratings are chiefly due to less positive evaluations from Republicans and, to a lesser extent, independents. The largest changes, both double-digit decreases, are seen in Republicans' views of Obama as a strong leader (down to 42% from 52% in April) and an effective government manager (down to 27% from 38% in April).

Now, roughly 9 in 10 Democrats believe Obama possesses each of the four characteristics. While a majority of independents say Obama is a strong leader (63%), understands Americans' problems (61%), and can manage government effectively (56%), half now say he shares their values. About one in five Republicans currently believe Obama shares their values.

    Bottom Line

Americans' assessment of the job Obama is doing as president has become less positive over the last several weeks. But the public still has a positive opinion of him overall (based on his favorable rating) and still views him as having strong capabilities for leadership and empathy. He is currently trying to apply those skills to win passage of landmark healthcare reform legislation against growing resistance.

    Survey Methods

Results are based on telephone interviews with 1,006 national adults, aged 18 and older, conducted July 17-19, 2009. For results based on the total sample of national adults, one can say with 95% confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is ±4 percentage points.

Interviews are conducted with respondents on land-line telephones (for respondents with a land-line telephone) and cellular phones (for respondents who are cell-phone only).

In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.

This is very very true, companies are restructuring and cutting costs, which has cause some people to lose their jobs. One question for you, how does that constitute failure? My money is your a red blooded republican, isn't what you want is industry success primarily? What I love is that if this had been another guy on watch, the republicans would come out and say "have faith in capitalism, if the companies stay afloat they will save us and jobs WILL come back." Since its a left wing liberal, saying the exact same ring wing mantra, its wrong. Wow.

Lemme guess, you're also one of those republicans who doesn't think Clinton was a closet conservative either?

Mr. O has been in office for only 6 months.

W had 8 years to screw up this country, and you're not willing to give Mr. O more than 6 months to clean up W's mess

In his first 6 months, Mr. O has already added stability to the economy, as evidenced by
the Dow surpassing the 9000 mark,

the resusitation of the financil industry, as some banks have paid back the TARP loans

unemployment appears to have peaked, corporations are returning to profitability, and the leading indicators are all beginning to trend positive.

yet you say things are getting worse. Big Texx, you have created a Big Fail of a thread.
