    No seriously, I have been impressed with Obama. No joke. As you all know politicians can't always do what they say or have promised implicitly due to political connected implications after the fact, ...There is an old saying that goes: Want to humor God? Make a plan...but I applaud Obama...

    He could..He might, but he won't..at least for now. :)

    Obama signaled thursday he will NOT seek renewal of a U.S. assault weapon ban while trying to cut arms flow to Mexico. Somehow I'm not surprised. Ottomaton wondered if Obama wasn't the best thing to happen to gun sales. I agree. It's all good for the economy in that sector, and thus good for jobs...and if we get past political agenda, that is priority one for all of us.

    Obama has bowed to the reality that such a move would be unpopular in politically key U.S. states as well as some conservative Democrats.

    Calderon understood the decision by Obama and stated "We know it is a politically delicate topic because Americans truly cherish their constitutional rights"...Damn well said...

    Good move Obama, I may vote for you yet in 4 years...(of course this depends on how much I have stockpiled ;) ) ;)

    Obama lied about renewing the gun ban. Just a typical politician. Should have voted for McCain.

    Fact is.....Obama knows the issue in Mexico has nothing to do with OUR weapons. Period. Good on him for realizing that. ( Hillary sure is a tool huh? )

    His intention is to make it harder for any Joe Blow to get one......which is the exact course of action. Well Done Barack!

    I'd rather have someone making good policy than someone towing the line.

    Don't get all bent out of shape just because you think Obama is a diety, and you've found a scratch on the statue, so now you plan to topple it...

    He could get it renewed if he wanted, he just wants to do it in his second term when it does not cost him so much.

    Personally if the AWB does not have the mag limit, who gives a crap. Waste your political capital on cosmetics.
