And this is why Faux viewers believe McCain/Palin have "won" each debate by an 80% margin. I think this is a clip from Fox and Friends, right? I love how O'reilly actually considers his program to be "balanced" or even a source of news. It's not. It's and opinionated propaganda machine. But good for him, his new book is selling well. Cod
I agree. Israel's biggest danger is itself. It doesn't need the US to subsidize it, or meddle in its affairs. I think most other nations in the Mid-East would agree with that sentiment as well.
Obama, explained it to a point to where it makes sense for both Small Business owners and the middle class. He just may have earned this guys vote. Obviously the guy wanted to pin Obama down. I must say even the plumber was able to understand Obama's theory by the end of the question. This is what we need in the white house. Good Job Obama.
What are the odds Bush or Palin could coherently explain Obama's tax policy? I'm going with not good.
I think this should be merged into ling ling's thread. I think Obama provided a well-reasoned argument, and I appreciate that he didn't just resort to a few soundbite answers. He took about 5 minutes of his time to discuss his tax policy with someone with a differing view. That's what I take from this. That's the type of thing I'm looking for in a President. And I don't understand why people are recoiling from his last line about "spreading the wealth." It's not like he's suggesting a radical tax policy -- this is hardly "socialism", or whatever people on the Right want to label it. Almost any mainstream tax policies, whether its Republican or Democrat, are "spreading the wealth" to some extent. Obama essentially is just saying he thinks the country would be better off by "spreading" it a little more than the Republicans have.
Wow, a cordial exchange among competing views of government. What a refreshing change. Obama's response was articulate and honest. For the first time in my adult life, I can say I'm going to be proud of our next President.
Let's be clear, that "plumber" is clearly a right wing plant. He calls up Foxnews right after the exchange. They have no shame.
I know right? Not even a hint of condescension or glibness. That was actually enjoyable to watch. And from what I've seen, John McCain is much the same way when speaking with individuals. It's good to have two candidates with a healthy respect for the American people, even those that have differing views.
