Gotta love editorials. Please note the definition of an editorial:

There's a good reason this is an editorial, not an factual article. I'll let you figure it out.

 

That what didn't happen? The statutory rape (where is the indictment or suspect?) or that Jennings deliberately didn't report it?

I can't speak on either since I don't feel like researching it, but it seems there never was an indictment given the lack of its mention in the article, and I would have to actually read what Jennings actually said instead of the editorial author's paraphrased version.

I'm kind of surprised though at basso. I was under the assumption he was okay with butt love.

 

I think basso's okay with anything that he can feign moral outrage about.

of course, the next time a Republican gets caught on tape talking about multiple affairs, it just makes the laughing harder. the morality of our leaders? eh. not really caring. I live off the assumption that some if not most are scumbags (reflective of the entire population really). the irony though? DELICIOUS.

 

Did I read it took quick? Where's the part where it's proven that the kid was definitely having a relationship with an older man? I hope the video protects the kid's identity.

 

I say if this is all true then thank god this kid found an adult that he could trust and confide in and not wall away with all kinds of judgmental phobias he would be fighting for the rest of his life. I’m also quite sure if this guy felt like there are any sign of abuse he would have reported it. Sounds like the kid just needed to talk about his experience and make sure he wasn’t “weird” or “abnormal. He was 15, discovering his sexuality, Jennings told him to be responsible and made the kid feel good.

I say he’s exactly the kid of person we want as an Education Czar

 

A person's judgment in life can be seen in different lights at different times. You can't just go over every person's life and pick out one skeleton (which isn't even that bad to be honest) to highlight a general lapse in judgment. Kevin Jennings, I happen to know, is a champion of gay rights and one of the most outspoken voices on ending discrimination against gays in school, a cause that is not so easily embraced in America and one that to me (and I am also thinking to you) represents a sign of great judgment. It's made him a magnet rod for conservative dirt-finders who can't seem to believe that homosexual atheists can be just as disciplined and moral as your average Christian fundamentalist Joe. But I don't think he gives a s***. He believes in a greater cause.

 

And my argument has nothing to do with gay rights. It has everything to do with life not being defined by a part but by a sum of parts.

This is why I could care less about the controversy and dirt-flinging over cheaters and swindlers. I just happen to savor the irony of our "moral guardians"
being caught in the same moral failures they look so hard (and inevitably find, because if you look hard enough...) for in other people.

 

Except when you don't support it, which is also true.

As someone who actually cares about gay rights, I will ask you to stop claiming to be on the side of gay rights. Your support is an insult to the movement.

Until you stop pretending that a President who favored a constitutional amendment to forever ban gay marriage is somehow the same as a president who is against such an amendment.

Your "support" is meaningless, and shameful for those who are truly in support of gay rights.
