Sigh. back to the old, "if you don't support Obama, then you're racist." That's about as low as you can go, mc mark.

Of course that's not what he was saying. He was relying on past remarks from you and your brother that have suggested a troubling attitude toward race relations.

    That's basically an empty promise.

There is no way we can tell if a job was "saved". Anyone can say their policies saved jobs. It is impossible to refute or prove.

Those numbers may be technically correct - but those jobs are entirely dependent on public spending (ie. debt).

Sort of like saying Republicans create defense jobs. I just don't consider those jobs to part of the non-public sector of the economy. Especially when they are funded by Chinese investors.

    Anyone else feel that way?

I want to add that economic analysis is almost always totally partisan and subjective no matter what way you slice it and what your position is.

It will always turn into a pissing contest. But I suppose that's why we have 2 political parties isn't it? If it was as exact as a physical science, then there would be no need for Democrats.

;) (jk about that democrat part)

Well, it's not like the president can influence much in terms of the private sector. He already parceled in a generous package of tax cuts that is part of the stimulus package.

...On a sidenote, imagine the uproar if he tried to intervene in free enterprise. "NO MR.PRESIDENT, we haven't f***** up yet, we'll call you again when our incompetence and rampant materialistic greed inevitably screws up the system once again."

and thusfar, he has been a huge disappointment.

i would wager that most people who voted for him did not expect that he would expand bush's warrantless wiretapping program, continue to allow evidence gained under torture to be admissible in a court of law, still have guantanamo open, have a tax cheat like geithner in his administration, refuse to release millions of bush-era emails, keep the patriot act in place, have a bunch of lobbyists working in his administration, refuse to look into bush's authorization of torture, expanding the war in afghanistan, allowing mercenary contractors like blackwater to continue to be on the government payroll and upholding extraordinary rendition to name just a few.

    so, you were saying?

I've never believed the president has any short-term influence on the economy.

    Bashing Obama is unfair.

Likewise, praising him for saving jobs isn't accurate either.

It's interesting watching the fighting going on here though. Even the race card gets used almost every other thread.

It would be so boring to regale the board with your history of race baiting epitaphs you've assigned to the president.

You've posted racist stuff on this board long before you didn't support Obama.

Promises Kept: Obama To Sign Hate Crimes Bill Wednesday

One of those big changes President Obama and the Democrats promised during the election is about to become law.

Last week the Senate gave final passage to the bill authorizing spending for the Department of Defense, which included a provision creating a hate crimes designation.

An administration official tells TPMDC Obama will sign the bill at the White House Wednesday. It is named for Matthew Shepard, a gay college student who was beaten to death in 1998.

He also will host a reception with gay rights groups and civil rights leaders commemorating the occasion. TPMDC has learned that Matt's mom Judy and brother Logan will attend the signing ceremony.

Last week, the president kept another campaign promise by signing a bill authorizing advanced funding for the Veterans Administration.

...To be fair, the president seems to have little problem when it comes to spending money.

That bill may very well face constitutional challenges. Not only based on the first amendment (freedom of speech) but also possibly based on the 14th amendment (equal protection). The equal protection clause could apply because the people who are protected under this bill are provided special protections not afforded to everyone else. In any case, I would not expect too much to change as a result of this bill. It could actually be tossed out as unconstitutional.

I think he has yet to best his record in his global warming denial thread, where he went from "you cannot disprove anything I say" to disappearing. Why are there no videos of the "new" Mojoman being sincere in his attempts to converse? :(

That's your response to my detailed post? You really win the interwebz. And yeah, I pretty much set the stupid 10-years-of-data-for-a-million-year-issue on fire, again, if you want a response to one of your irrefutable points.

And I presented a ton of scientific argumentation. Your response is "disprove all the non-scientific statements I post first!" Again, you totally win the interwebz. congrats, and buh-bye. sorry I wasted time giving you a sincere reply.

You laid out an assortment of your different personal views and perspectives on different facets of the global warming issue. That's fine. Thanks for posting that. However, after your latest reply, I am now wondering if you believe that a presentation of your opinions here on this board carries with it some sort of Zeus like authority before which everyone who reads is expected to bow the knee and cover their mouth, while maintaining a proper attitude of awe and wonder. Needless to say, I am not that impressed with what you wrote.

The content of my initial post that you were so hostile towards is pretty straight forward stuff. I do not believe you can authoritatively refute anything in that post. If you can, then I will stand corrected and I will say so here on this board.

But don't feel the need to respond. I honestly do not care for your tone, and I am not really interested in pursuing this with you any further. But, unless I am mistaken, you will feel compelled to have the last word. If so, have at it. It is all yours.

    blah blah blah

The point being that once again texxx shows himself to be misinformed when he makes outlandish statements that President Obama hasn't accomplished anything.

In other words, you have no argument so you're taking your ball and running home with it. You play the victim card really well.
