Also a factor is that they are trying to build in the port of Oakland where ships and trucks currently do business.
Can you imagine if they tried doing that in the port of Houston ? What a mess

I'm sure there's parcels of land by the Houston port that could be built on without disrupting the flow of goods.... not like they're building on the water!

Also, as far as I know, the Oakland port is a little less "gamey" than the very-much traveled Houston inlet. It is also a historic part of that city and its culture. If they didn't have a more enticing offer/market from Vegas, and the team actually made more of a push to stay there, I would say that site is a far upgrade from the dump they're at now.

But like I said earlier, seems like both sides want the same thing. City of Oakland doesn't want to spend money and the A's would rather have everything handed to them on a platter (like Vegas will probably do).

They even have the wynn field club where you can get club bottle type service with your own section to watch the game.

In Oakland you can hang out at the Bart station with the pickpockets and beggars

I gotta say, having road divisional games in Anaheim, Seattle, and Vegas ain't too shabby for traveling Astros fans.

    It's gentrifying like crazy.

Nothing like getting shot down in your 1.5 million dollar hood.

    Love Seattle.

Anaheim is cool as hell, once you get out of Anaheim.

    Bay Area >>> Vegas.

    You forgot Arlington.

    Lol
You’ve never been to Oakland or that dump the Coliseum
There’s a reason why they want to leave and the Raiders AND Warriors left

A strip stadium would be cool, if done right. Especially where it's positioned, almost at thee be of the strip. Night games would be cool if you could see the lights in the outfield. Vegas lends itself well to the quirkiness of baseball, if done right.

That may be done wrong. Figure out a way to face it looking down the rest of the strip, so during night games, you have a view of the lights beyond the outfield.

Change the team name to the "Vegas Lights" and be done. Knights and Lights.
