There are some interesting quotes in this article:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/02/sports/basketball/02knicks.html?ref=basketball

    • To this day, McGrady loves baseball more than basketball.
    • McGrady insists he will return to all-star form next year
    • He was "destroyed" last year to see the Rockets advance in the playoffs while he was on the sidelines. He feel the team could have been accomplished something special if he was healthy.

Blah, blah, blah.... nothing different all promises/statements that either can't be kept or are false.

Why can't this guy just keep his mouth shut?

Wow. I thought he said the same thing last year when he surprised the team with the surgery announcement.

I thought he and Grover stated that he was 100% three weeks into the season?

SO glad he isn't our problem anymore

I defended this guy as much as anyone on here but he sure doesn't know when to shut up. I hope that he's not thinking that someone is going to give him another 10+ million dollar contract betting on him being 100%. The more that I hear this guy the more that I'm thinking that he just wants to rape some team out of a huge contract by making them think that he's 100%. I am still not sure that everything was handled the right way but I'm glad to see that coach Adelman is in fact, Rick the Ruler.

The funny thing is that he is already himself, it is what he does.

He just doesn't realize that he is what he is...

When I first clicked on this thread, I thought this would be a story from a year ago. We've heard this before. McGrady will not be back to all-star form next year or any year after that. He hasn't been an all-star caliber player for two years now, and he's not getting any younger.

TMac should be signing league minimum contracts from here on out. With his current performance and his injury history, teams would be stupid to offer more.

Max contract ego with min contract performance. I wonder how this is going to work out?

I'm starting to think this guy has some sort of attention-seeking syndrome ala Terrell Owens...

    Starting to think?

It sure seems like he is really insecure and seeks out attention or appreciation.

IMO, he is one of the most physically gifted and mentally weak players of all time.

This guy is a comedian. I think every time he has opened his mouth over the last 1+ year, I have laughed.

“But for me to be injured and sit out and watch my team advance destroyed me. Destroyed me. I’m not even going to lie. I was hurt, man.”

Hurt that his team advanced past the first round without him?? *sigh* if you never announced and proceeded on to your own surgery Tracy....

The guy is a loser. Half of us have been on to him for several years and just about everyone else who was paying attention and isn't seventeen years old caught on over the last year.

    His biggest problems now are:

He can't blame his problems on management or the coach
He is on the wrong side of thirty
He put himself in a situation where every GM in the league sees that he is done as a quality NBA player

He won't be in the league by next Christmas. Maybe before next season if he decides it isn't worth coming back for the small amount of money he will be offered.
