Don't want to start a cop bashing session. Most put their lives on the line and do great stuff. Just hate to see abuse like this. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oUkiyBVytRQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oUkiyBVytRQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Seems a bit odd. I'll never underestimate the ability of those in power to act toolish, but you have to wonder if the cyclist did something stupid like flip off an officer or something along those lines. Let me make it clear: I can't think of much he could do in those five seconds that would warrant the officer doing something that could potentially break his neck, but I wonder if there was something more to the story that would lead to the officer completely and utterly overreacting.
That was freaking uncalled for. Police officers are entrusted to keep the peace and enforce our laws. Many cops look at it as a calling -- as do firefighters, teachers, and other civil servants. Idiots like this should lose their jobs.
that was ****ed up...I also hate cops...because lets be real...its a job that doesnt call to the best and brightest...From the looks of it, the cop got pissed off that the biker nearly hit him, so he decided that he could drop him and no one would be wise about it....well my friend I hope you do some time for this crap and your butthole pays the piper
That looks ridiculous. That being said, I'd like to hear the cop's side of the story. There might be more to it. If not, I hope the cyclist gets a lot of money out of the city.
Give a scenario where this is acceptable. 'He flipped me off. So even though he tried to swerve out of my path, I sped up, and rammed him into the curb.' 'I really don't like peaceful Green protests. I own stock in oil. So I bent him over and gave it to him oil derrick style.' 'This is New York. What do you expect?'
I'm all for bicyclist rights, but Critical Mass also go out of their way to cause problems. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2008075512_reading27.html This time, they beat the hell out of a dude and his car after he yelled at them to stop blocking his way. I'm not sure if physical confrontation is the way to go. They're starting to remind of PETA and ELF.
why do people keep saying the biker did something? even if he did so what? that was assualt by the officer under any circumstance
this would not have happened if the dude was driving some big assed SUV with baby seals for headlights instead of push bike
