There's a McDonald's on W. 3rd in Greenwich Village that I hear good things about.

Good suggestions so far. The reason I said Times Square is b/c my Hotel and conference is located there (Sheraton) and I am sure i'll just use my free time to see what's around my area first and foremost. How's night life in that area?

moe- nigfhtlife in that area blows.get out of that area quickly when you have the chance.

at least go to Hell's Kitchen- head on over to Bar 9 at 53rd street and 9th Avenue.

its not just Times Square that's open all day and all night, it's the City The Never Sleeps.

Halal Guys, best food stand in town. Get the lamb platter with extra crack sauce, pita, and hot sauce. It's about 9 dollars including a drink, but they give you a lot of food.

It's on 53rd and 6th, but there's a couple of other ones owned by the same guys in the surronding area.

Make sure it says Halal Guys! Do not go to the ripoff stands!

If you like pizza, there's a good place called John's Pizzeria, on the border of the Village and Little Italy.

2 pages and no mention of Carmine's?!?

Best veal you will ever have in your life, it's orgasmic. The one thing I should tell you of, is that it's family sized. One order of Veal (comes with pasta) and a salad is enough to feed three people, which also makes the prices much, much more reasonable.

Mamoun's was this shiznit back in the day. I'm partial to Sam's falafel as well.

Tons of great sushi places - since I'm not in NY as frequently these days, it's probably easier if you just yelp it. There's an Afghan place on the Upper East called Afghan Kebab House that I like.

Do people still hang out at Ava Lounge in Midtown? Been there after work a few times, and it wasn't too bad on a warm night. Nice views of Times Square from the roof. Not sure how old you are, but if you're in your 20's bar hopping in the The Village is always a good time - places like Red Lion, Amity Hall, etc.

Aside from eating and going out, you should go to at least one of the big museums there: MoMA, Met, Natural Science, Guggenheim, etc.

even though liltexx is a giant tool, i too must agree with his advice. all tourists should stay in times square, where they belong.
