Not Enough NY minutes - According to the the NY Times: Even
as the Knicks victories pile up — they'll go for their eighth straight on
Thursday against the Rockets — the Knicks (22-12) admit that
potential discord is only a clean bill of health away. When Glen Rice
returns from plantar fasciitis of the left foot, possibly as soon as
Thursday, the guard- heavy Knicks will be at full load for one of the few
times this season. And while that may sound desirable, in reality, it
means there could be tension over minutes.'It's going to be a problem,'
Chris Childs said. 'There's no way around it. But we have to learn how
to deal with it and know that when you have a team like we have,
that's deep and can go different lineups and different ways.' . . .
Meanwhile, the NY Daily News reports that although the Knicks and
Nuggets talked about a deal involving Raef LaFrentz and Kurt
Thomas, with both teams playing well those discussions have been
    put on hold.

    ------------

    Talk about lack of respect.

Why is that a lack of respect? They are going to be going for their 8th consecutive victory. That is a fact. Teams go for a victory every night. It's not as if they said, "The Knicks will get their 8th consecutive victory against the Rockets". If the Rockets win tonight, they in turn will be going for their 2nd consecutive victory against the Knicks.

If the article had said they will be going for their 9th consecutive victory against Portland on the 13, THAT would be a lack of respect.

That´s ONE way of looking at it. To me the writer clearly thinks that the knicks victory on thursday is a given.

    Bobrek,

    Good observation.

Thanos, I think you got the wrong impression and reading that article incorrectly.

So when a baseball player has a hitting streak going (let's say 30 games) and the article indicates that "Joe Dimaggio will be going for a hit in his 31st consecutive game tonight", is that a lack of respect for the pitcher?

When the Oakland newspaper says that the Raiders are one victory away from the Super Bowl, is that a lack of respect for the Ravens?

When Gold DIgest reports that Tiger Woods is gunning for his 4th consecutive major when the Masters comes around, is that a lack of respect for the rest of the field?

When Tennis World reports that Pete Sampras is going for his ?? major in the Australian Open, is that a lack of respect for the field?

The comment made by that sportswriter is the same that would be made by Feigan of the Chronicle (or any sports writer) if/when the Rockets are working on an 8 game winning streak.

Awright, awright, your point is made. [IMG]

Guess i´m just a bit over-sensitive when it comes to the lack of respect our beloved rockets usually gets from the press.
