Don't include me in EVERYONE!! Padgett is being cut because he isnt good enough for the Nets. If we are to iimprove our team we can't go back to bring more scrub players onto our team. We need athletic players to surround Tracy & Yao! The way the game is being played to-day Padgett isnt up to it!

i do agree on you that we do need to prioritize more taller athletic players in our team. preferably a tall 2-guard, a better pg, and a better pf. BUT, padgett was a real good fit for this team because of his shooting ability. with him on the floor, it opened up the lane for tmac and yao. the one we really need to let go is rybo. he's just a waste of a roster spot.
NO, just that I want a MUCH better player than Padgett! I would rather be thinking that I wanted another Mario not another Padgett. JVG need to change his mind set to a much higher plain of quality.
Uh, good luck with adding 8 Shawn Marions to the team. I don't think you quite grasp how many players we truly need here. It's not like anyone is advocating giving Padgett the MLE or anything.
Padgett wasn't a good fit with the nets. they don't need another perimeter player/soft inside player. they need muscle in the front court. yes, in the backcourt we need athletes. slashers & cutters get all the calls in todays NBA. however, with the allowance of zone defense, SHOOTERS are in high demand. especially since we are trying to open up the block for yao and also open up the lane for those slashers/cutters that we want.

I would sign Padgett in a heartbeat. He had some pretty good chemistry with T-Mac and he really drags the opposing 4 to the three point line away from Yao. That would also allow the rockets to use their picks #8 and #32 on some athletes at the 1 through 3 spot.
I guess you would rather just give roster spots to our 8 best players and cut everyone else? Every team has scrubs. Padgett is the perfect scrub for this team, and will make a difference if he comes back.
He hit a game winner against the Knicks, and almost single-handedly carried us to a win against the Kings. He also hit many other clutch shots. The guy shot 39% from 3 with us. That's not luck, but consistency. That percentage is better than anyone shot for us last year (except for brunson, of course). Throw some names out there of who you would rather have for Padgett's price.

We should definitely bring Padgett back for a minimum salary and cut Rybo. At least a few games per year he will help us win. He's a great 10th or 11th man. The Nets were the worst possible fit for him because he feeds off having a big man draw attention so he can hit wide open outside shots.
the game winner against NewYork was PURE LUCK (off the wrong foot, didn't know what to do, threw it up, went it).. ALMOST carried us to win..with 5/6 threes, I never saw him do that again.. 39% threes is good for a superstar who takes 8+ 3's a game.. not for a scrub shooting all wide open.. I can do better than 39% in my drive way.. but in the end, if we can get him for the LEAGUE MINIMUM, it would be alright.. he aint bad as a bench warmer or a choice off the bench if we are playing against mobile PF's (Murphy for example).. if we can get anybody for the MINIMUM, I would rather have Scott than anybody else (except for Thomas of course, but he said he is staying in Phoenix)..
True every team has srubs but we are now officially over-stocked on scrubs. Wesley, lampce, bowen, brusen, frahm, thats a whole lin-up of scrubs. Plus our point guard cant shoot to save his life, Deke is old(still gives help though) Juwan cant hold any PF in the Westen Conference, Swift dont know if he playing basketball or water polo, and the truth is if you took T & Y off the rockets we would go 2-80. Who'll carry us head and juwan? SA: Take off Duncan, Parker? Still got finley, ginobli, bowen and decent players Dallas: Take off Dirk, Terry? Still got stackhouse, terry, howard, daniels, harris, (very decent) Clippers: Take off Brand, Cassell? Still got Mobley, Maggette, Ross and more decent. Phoniex: Take off Nash, Marion? Barbosa, Diaw, Bell, thomas and plus Stoudamire When does it stop?
